I was waiting in line to buy stamps at the grocery store and a guy in front of me spent $300 on scratch off tickets. I guess that is where the stimulus goes. Better than the tribal casinos in my view. It's worse. All that lottery money helps the state in their war on private lands in rural MN. Every scratch off helps ensure that some day future Minnesotans will no longer realize the blessings of rural living that we had. I'd rather the tribes got it. To be clear, I feel the tribes use their money for political influence that I usually don’t support. |

I have always said... "how is losing money entertainment?" hard to believe how dense people are. For some reason, people take offense when I tell them gambling is a tax on the mathematically challenged The lottery is a tax on the poor. Same thing basically. I’ve bought a total of one ticket in my life. |

Although, I have never bought a lotto ticket in my life.... the wife is a little nuts and has to do it.... I always wonder.... Why is it SOOOO important to get a lotto ticket when its 500 mill...... Isnt 1 mill enough to set me free??? Goddam right it is. With zero debt, to get a mill(after tax) I do believe thats major life changing. MAJOR.

Odds dont go up. You still have to guess the numbers. your only benefit is far less people are playing and reduces the odds some other nutjob guesses the same number and you have to split it.  Gambling never pays.... Well RARELY pays. : ) |
