Say you have verbally trespassed someone from your property that is not posted, then later that person shows up with the cops and trespasses on your property. You want the trespasser charged with trespassing. The trespasser openly admits to previously being trespassed from your property. What happens next?
Do the cops issue a ticket to the trespasser? Or is it up to the property owner to file a case in court? Who is the prosecuting party, the cops or the private individual?

I would be the trespasser in the example. My claim is that the property in question is an undeveloped street open to public use. His claim is that the property in question has always been his and the street never existed, not ever platted. City Attorney and City Administrator ain't returning my messages on my concerns. The person has a past settlement with the City (with 2 years paid salary), and I think the City is avoiding the issue if possible. So, I am thinking of pushing the issue by getting a trespass ticket, but not so sure how wise that would be.

What the heck is; "conduct unbecoming of teacher"? Had he done something that should have been charged but they didn't want to?
Shouldn't there be records somewhere on who owns the property? I would think it should be easy to determine who pays taxes on it; private or city.
What's the trespass worth to you? Major inconvenience if you can't use the property anymore? Will getting a ticket hurt you financially or job wise, or is it something you just pay and walk away from?

Look said property up and see who's paying the taxes. That will tell you who owns it.

Unless it’s posted I don’t believe a ticket can be given for trespassing in MN can it? Landowners must post their land once a year.

The property in question is a bit confusing as it is part of a vacated street. Still, I think it is clear as good gin who owns what once all the facts are presented. I think I am dealing with a habitual liar who is being a piece of shit, and weak ass City employees.
The trespass is worth much to me. The piece of property in question is the only access to my property that is able to be developed. Ticket wouldn't hurt me job wise. The property is 3.5 hours from home, and I am about to be stupid busy working for the next month or more, so I won't be doing anything like getting a trespass ticket until I have more time to do so.

Look said property up and see who's paying the taxes. That will tell you who owns it. No one is paying taxes on it. It is City property per everything that I can find on it. But dude disagrees. I have given the police the info and said I will be calling them before I pass on the property again.

No other way to get to your place? That is a pretty big deal. Worst case scenario you loose access. Can this property be purchased? If you went to the city with an offer to buy it would they entertain selling, or at least state who actually owns it?

One is too long and narrow to be developed for a driveway. Others are too close to open water for me to develop per city ordinance, but I may be able to force the City to develop there if denied here. That battle is not worth it to me. This is the only access that I can develop into a driveway.
I contacted the City Attorney and City Administrator to state who actually owns the part in question. The one reply I got back was a poorly written one by the attorney answering the question I had left for the administrator. Not what I had asked the attorney. The City Attorney's reply stated that his opinion is that it is NOT City property, it is owned by the adjoining land owners. And also that his opinion should not be used as legal advice. I am one of the adjoining land owners whose title doesn't match his opinion. I have asked for any evidence or reasons for his opinion and not received a reply.

In WI, a person just assumes you need permission to go anywhere if you don't own it. IMO, that should be the case everywhere. My place is fenced. Legally I don't have to post it to keep trespassers off, but believe me...it's posted.

Anybody had someone ticketed for trespassing from there property in MN? Did you have to do much of anything or was it handled by the cops/sherriff/city/county/Co/whoever?
