$2k in April. I can't get a price quote for peak season (summer) because it's booked out already. Nice looking place though

Those prices are crazy, maybe I need to get into the vacation rental business.
On second thought, I don't really like dealing with people or having them use my stuff so that wouldn't be a good match for me. But I think money can definitely be made there.

These VRBO searches have made me realize what a deal it is to stay at the place on the Ash River we stayed at last year (and will again this year). $1000+ tax is now "dirt cheap" for a weeks stay on/near the water

Florida seems to be the place for VRBO homes. Local Mora guy has a 4 bedroom home in Florida he rents out for 6 months a year at $11,000 per month. Has a screened in pool on a canal. $500,000 home when he bought it. It’s booked 2 years in advance all from Mora people. Same house here in this part of AZ would be $4000/month. Hard to believe the price difference.

No ocean in AZ $11K and his house ain’t on the ocean either. if it's on a canal you can access the ocean via boat, or take a short drive and be on the ocean I'd imagine.

Loads of Cali plates down there the last couple years. Meanwhile, west coast invaders were one big reason my cousin left AZ to go back to WI

I don't know about rentals further inland, but those right on the gulf in the area we've gone the last two years seem to stay occupied for much of the year. I just checked availability for a place we've walked past dozens of times. It's booked for every week but a few (August/September) for 2023 and 2024. I tried booking it for February of 2025, but the website wouldn't allow me to do so. You could throw a rock from the patio and hit the Gulf when it's high tide. $9500/month in the winter.
