Sight glass is probably for when it is hot but it is not possible to run out of fluid or machine wouldn’t move before that. Probably to low for sight glass and obviously to work. That is inexcusable to send a machine out like that. If I was your salesman the shop would be eating that rental. Dude is already talking concessions. We’ll see when we get to that point. I only got 3.6 hour run time today. I should be done by now. They ate into your time with bad machinery. I’m with Chummer. They owe you a day. Don’t concede anything until he plays his cards.

I’d stress to him that you wasted a vacation day sitting around do to two defective units. Ask him if he values his time off. If that doesn’t hit home then say he can come work for you a day of your choice in the future. My guess is he will make it right for you.

Well, I'm still down. The machine was around 1-2 gallons shy on hydraulic fluid. Got that filled back up and it's still throwing a code and won't work. The dude looked it over and the guys at Bobcat think a belt snapped, so they're gonna rip it apart and try that. I'm going to hang out for a while and see if I can still finish. I don't like having my underwear pulled up this high, but I really want to get that dirt spread. There is also the issue of trails that need to be smoothed out. I'm not confident I can still finish today, not unless they have that thing running by 3pm, and he ain't even back with the belt yet.

Yep, they screwed you on time off work, time that's dry, time to let the disturbance recover before deer season, etc. They should have showed up with another machine last night and done their maintenance and repairs on their own time.

The belt was the issue. Not sure what it drove, but a third of it split off, and then the remaining part just snapped when I got in. Dude thinks he'll have it fixed shortly, so I'm gonna put on pants and get out there and run that thing like I don't own it. This is going to be close.

How are you going to prevent erosion on those raised blinds?

How are you going to prevent erosion on those raised blinds? I'm sure he'll plant awnless wheat... or flax, maybe barely or some such.
