Low of 45 on Saturday, the morning hunt could be alright! Then it gets hot on Sunday, but cools off after rain on Monday.

Nice cool morning. Wasn’t expecting anything this morning. Had a doe and fawn come thru at 8am. That was it. Saw a real nice buck on the drive over this morning. In the corn.
Going to try it this afternoon although it’s too warm. Then will try to sneak up Tuesday afternoon for the cold front.

Yep. I havent been on stand yet. I have no place to quarter a deer and get it in a fridge.
I am not shooting a deer and totally deboning to get shoved into some cool place. Forecast for 10 days is still very warm. My son has been out but just to observe mainly.
Nephew was all fired up to hunt opening Archery weekend. I asked him... "What are you doing with a deer if you kill one?"
I aint butchering a deer till 3am. he didnt hunt. LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL

The maddening part about this extension of the warm season is that it usually isn't accompanied by a still proper length transition through a cool season. We'll most likely just flip the switch from 75 one day to 15 the next with no fall in between.

We'll most likely just flip the switch from 75 one day to 15 the next with no fall in between. And for 2-3 days there will be lots of deer activity.

This isn't the first warmer than normal September, and it's not a "new" thing. I have rarely bow hunted much in September due to the temps, and I've been bow hunting since 1979 or 1980

Hell, a few years ago I was sitting in a short sleeved shirt during rifle season, near Baudette.

Hell, a few years ago I was sitting in a short sleeved shirt during rifle season, near Baudette. I remember one time having to go buy an orange tee shirt for rifle hunting cause it was so warm.
