Nope but I want to get some cuttings and start. Seems like it might be as easy as growing ROD.

I may just go ahead and order a package of them from SLN.

I may just go ahead and order a package of them from SLN. It isn't related to Elderberries, but did you see some of the new pear varieties offered by SLN this year? A few of them looked pretty interesting based on the descriptions.

Appears they sourced scionwood from a number of the Russian varieties that are available in Canada. There's also a few more there that I haven't heard of. I'm hoping to source a stick or two of Taylor Apple Pear this year from a guy in upstate NY.

Just ordered 7 bushes of 5 elderberry varieties from Indiana Berry. I hope they do well, and I can make my own elderberry syrup someday.

Not elderberry, but I've got more mulberry growing in the house grove than the birds can eat. My MIL makes mulberry pies every year. I'm not a big fan. Too sweet, like blueberry.

Most mulberries are pretty "blah" when it comes to flavor IMO. My grandma used to mix mulberries with wild black raspberries to make pies. Now those were tasty pies.

Along the lines of Elderberry, do any of you fruit guys have any tips on growing black and red currents?

I haven't grown any currants. I've got loads of wild gooseberries here. Since they're related to currants, I'd think that currants are also easy to grow but that's just a guess.

I wish I could do elderberry here. Unfortutelty toxic to pigs. Currents could fill a nice niche for my setup

I wonder if that is why white pine are not common in your area. I had planted several currants a few years ago and then realized they didn’t do nice things to White Pines so I had to kill them. I have white pines surrounding a good portion of my property.
