I'll make another prediction. That's where our rubs will start getting made. I'd almost guarantee it

Finished up this year's plugs a bit ago. No backaches this year, 650 must be about the right number to plant every year

UPS man brought me 35 plugs from the Univ. of ID this morning. I've never ordered from them before, but would definitely do so again. Very nice quality stock, the plugs themselves are about the size of a styro 20 from NCR. They arrived intact, very little loose soil at the bottom of the bags. I ordered from them because NCR was out of anything I wanted in styro 20 size. 15 Austrian, 15 Ponderosa, and 5 Limber pines. It was shovel work, too big for a plug planter...but it was easy shovel work.

Those look good! What's a plug that size run typically? A post hole digger would make quick work on those.
I did bareroot again this year after being really pleased with last year's growth and survival. A little more labor intensive, but worth it to me with smaller quantities.

Cost from U of ID is $2.50 each plus shipping. Cost from NCR for styro 20s in quantities less than 50 is $2.68 each (I pick up, so no shipping)
Not cheap, most of what I plant are styro 6s from NCR, those run around $.40 each.
