Checking my security cams.....and judging from the number of fish houses out in front of my place......Gull Lake must be hot right now. More fish houses than I ever seen out in front of my place. Also read on Outdoor News that Gull was putting out walleyes. Any other fishing reports from MN lakes? I think the big Ice Fishing Extravaganza on Gull is this weekend......so maybe those results will be improved this year. Also reading that Round, North Long and Whitefish are putting out some 'eyes. The weather sounds like its good enough to be on the ice. I see little snow in my yard. Guess I will drop a line in the 19th ice hole. FORE!

Radio report as of 4 hours ago, the largest fish at the Gull tourney was a 5 and a half pound northern. Lot of tullibees and perch were caught.

Lots of guys around here pulled their shacks off the ice last week. Many of those remaining were pulled into areas with thicker ice.

I am booking a fishing charter out of Puerto Morelos. Its a 33' boat that takes 15-20 minutes to get from the dock to the fishing grounds. Me and 3 girls are going. Would you book for 4, 6 or 8 hours? How much fishing does a guy need do you think? Anyone been there?

We did an 8 hour charter in Alaska for salmon and halibut, doing the long day was the only way to get after both fish. I think we actually had a 1+ hr to the fishing spots and it ended up being close to a 11 hour day. My wife said she did get a bit bored, but I think everybody did with the long boat rides.
Depending on regulations, you might only be able to keep your own fish, not adding any to your groups limit. I caught my salmon limit by 9:30 am, and had to wait for the other 9 people fishing on our boat to get theirs before we went after halibut later in the day. So the cooler of beer was a must.

Also, finding online reviews is a must for the charters. Do they say 15-20 minutes travel, but it is actually 45+ mins? If they don't get you on fish right away are they going to move around to different spots? A 4 hour trip could turn into <2 hrs of actual fishing with a bad charter.

Did the reviews already, the marina we go out of is 15 minutes from the fishing lane. Not planning on keeping any if they are biting, maybe one for the hotel to cook up for us.

Taking about 30-40 people ice fishing today for a work event. Most have never stepped foot on the ice. Coming from AZ, CA, CO, IL, etc. Hopefully no broken bones from slipping on the ice!
