I have increased my plantings beyond a pack back sprayer. Anybody use an ATV boomless sprayer? brand(s) they like or disliked?

I don't like Boomless. Chemicals get sprayed up in the air for max coverage. To easy for drift to occur in my book! I like my ATV folding boom sprayer by fimco.chemical goes strait down.

I own a Fimco boomlets sprayer. I think it holds 25 gallons. I have had some issues with the plastic parts......but some could be from improper winterizing by me. It does a good job.....and if I needed another I'd likely buy the same unit.

I have the same one as Mo posted. Foggy actually picked it up for me off Craigslist in Brainerd.
Pretty slick. I like it a lot. I have never used boomless, but I have to believe control on a boom sprayer is much better than a boomless. I know when I spray, the wind ALWAYS picks up unexpectedly!!!!!!!!

I have a FIMCO bomeless and if I was going to do it again I would buy what Mo has. If your spraying larger fields I would go with a boom sprayer for better coverage and better weed kill. When you spray in the wind (which sometimes you have to) the boomless sprayer will miss areas.

If you have allot of trees and narrow areas to spray......the boom sprayers can be troublesome to get around with. Now, after my land is opened up more I could consider a boom sprayer in lieu of the boomless.....but both have their place.
I did get some drift from my boomlets one day.....and killed a couple apple trees when the wind gusted on me. It is somewhat harder to control the boomless type sprayers.

I use a boomless sprayer, purchased from Minnesota Wanner Co. The only problems is missed areas between going back and forth. I use a blue colored dye when basal spraying buckthorn and prickly ash, maybe this dye is what I need for using the boomless sprayer.

I read somewhere.....where folks just use food color for dye. Was that on this site? Does it work? More info?
I got some blue dye at one time.....and that crap leaked all over my storage area. I still have to clean some up from time to time. Not sure where it comes from. Grrrrrrr

I've got the 20 gallon version of this Fimco. Works good on trails. Takes a while to do my plots, but I'm not in a hurry most of the time. upload pic

I have that one as well as the Fimco larger boom sprayer and yes, it works great on trails.

My "boomlets" sprayer actually has about a 4 foot boom and three nozzles. One nozzle on each end and one in the middle. I can adjust those nozzles to point down and keep the spray pattern "tight" for use on trails and such.....or adjust the nozzles to spray about 12 feet to either side. Obviously you would want to change your ground speed depending on how your nozzles are set up.

The stuff we use in ponds is very concentrated and should show up well. Definitely don't want to spill it or apply with holes in your gloves (ask me how I know this! Poppa Smurf hands: )

I also Fimco boomless sprayer. Works good and sure you might miss a bit here or there but its a food plot and the convenience is worth it for me.

I use a folding boom sprayer similar to the one Mo has pictured at the top. For trails I fold the booms in and drive faster.
