Wild rose has berry like things? The Mainers I talked to called those "beach roses". Probably because you find them on most every beach....at least we did. I believe they are rugosa roses. The berry like things are called rose hips. All wild roses have them, but those on the beach roses get huge. Like the size of a crabapple.

I'd rather pay for a paper plate and eat more lobster. No need for a fancy plate while sitting at a seafood shack.

No mess this time. Still tasted great. I hate it when they cut the tail. It makes it tougher to pop the tail off. If the claw shells are hard having them cracked makes it easier to get at the meat though. Some hard shells are hard to crack even with crackers. I had a 5 pounder once that we had to use a hammer on to crack the claws.

Just a lunch view pic today. Lobster roll and hot lobster dip/chips. Dip was excellent. Morning hikes on Beech and Flying Mountains.

Finished up the trip with a lobster melt on Friday and roll Saturday on the way back to the airport. 7 straight days of lobster in some shape or form. It’ll be years before that happens again. Great week and fantastic weather. Picked this up in Northeast Harbor. Real ones were too big to fit in my small suitcase.

I do want to throw the "new" Thunder Lodge in L.P. some love. The new owners are a young couple who are figuring shit out...but the food is really good. I have to say the food is better now than it was before. I hope they are able to make it work.

Had a PB&J burger today at Shady's Golden Eagle, first time ever I've had a burger like that. I always wanted to try one and could just never get past the "weird" factor. I really wish I had tried one before. Fantastic. I'll be ordering one the next time I see one on the menu
