Yeah, just playing around. looked a bit annoying to me as well, easy to revert back to normal "no border color". I suppose your a Mossy Oak guy? Not at all. Just don't like busy crap on the sides. I don't know if you noticed, but I did change it back before I read your post because I felt the same. That said, in the name of learning how to use this software, it was an "experiment" worth trying.

And when you find that Upload Button for the posting spot, feel free to pop that in.

For those of you that have not noticed, Lee added a "Add image to post" button.
It works way better than having to put up with the Photo Bucket Bullshit!

Should we put a link with a sticky of the map we created on the other site? I always thought Jim should do that and put it somewhere front and center.

Or maybe we could embed it right in the site? That would be up to Lee, since this site is his baby, and Kabic since the map is of his creation. I believe it would be pretty simple to do otherwise.

If it is OK with the 2 of them, I can work on it later this evening.

It appears to be a bit more complex than I anticipated, but I'm going to keep trying. Issue is that the Google Map is HTML code and the forum will only allow HTML to be embedded within the bbcode that the forum operates on. We could still post the link like Jim had, but it would open in it's own page similar to before. I am trying to put it right into this software so it is active all the time without opening another page, then we hide it from non-members.

OK, I just had the map embedded at the very bottom of the forum page in a preview screen, it appeared to be fully functional. I will be posting a poll tomorrow with some options for everyone to vote on. I'm out for the evening.............

OK, I will post a new thread with a poll here shortly, first a little background on our "Member Location Map". I was able to preview the map and how it works on the very bottom of the forum page last night. On my screen, it loaded into the left 1/3 to 1/2 of the forum page below the "Forum Information and Statistics box. I can move this anywhere on the page depending on where I embed the code. It seemed to have all functionality while embedded in the sight with the caveat of one having to be careful where and how you click on things, or it will auto open the "large map" in it's own browser window, just like the link did on Jim's site.
Now on to the nitty-gritty and the "hard questions". First off, for this map to work while embedded in the site, it had to be made "public", therein lies the start of the issues. Keep in mind that we are a "public" forum right now that allows anyone that finds the site to view everything as a guest without having to "log-in" to do so, do you know who the 4 or 5 "guests" are that are viewing your posts and more importantly your land location? We have a few options in this regard. We embed the map in the site and leave it open for everyone to view and manipulate, member or guest...bad option IMO. We make the site private so one needs to at least become a member that must log-in to see the site...barely better than the first option, unless you "know" everyone who is a member, because anyone can still sign up under any name and view the location map. Then we have the option to "close" the membership to only those we "know and trust", safest option, but could become a burden to the moderators to have to scrutinize and approve every person who wants a "membership" to the forum.
Our second option would be to just put the link to the map in a post like on Jim's site and when clicked it will open in a new window. This has couple options as well. We could do this on a board and thread of it's own and leave it "live" with access for only those with the "link", or we could make that a "members only" thread that only members could view and then access the map...again, not a very good option. That said, we would still have the issue of anyone who wanted to see where your land was located could just get a member name and log-on to see your location. Then we would need to exercise the "closed forum" option to keep every Fudd from seeing our locations. We could also make a "group" in the site the "members with locations" group and only those who are a part of the group would be allowed permissions to access that thread and the map link. Those permissions would need to be granted by one of the Mods before access was allowed and it would only be allowed if they were to post their own location on the map, if they did not give the location of their property to the Mod first, they would not be allowed to access the page.
There are lots of "security" things to contemplate on this before I turn it loose to the world and I will not do it without some kind of consensus from the guys who are already on that map. I have no land to contend with poachers and trespassers, so I don't really count, other than I don't want a whole bunch more a-holes knowing what public grounds I hunt on either, they are crowded enough already, so please post some feedback or ask questions here and I will do my best to explain them and see what our options are. I will see if I can get this in a poll, but maybe it is too complex of an issue to just have a few answers to very important questions.
