I read in West Central Trib that scopes on muzzleloaders in MN passed this year...I cannot find it anywhere else? Any insight on this?
Personally, I don't know what to think? More accurate, but also, will this increase the number of hunters in late season??

I don't know your season structure but my take on muzzle loader is it should be open sites and not an in-line gun IF it has it's own season. If it's used during rifle season then use whatever you want.

I'd agree with that

I would too, but that would limit harvest, and the DNR will do nothing to limit any possible harvest any more. Not a chance in hell.
We have CWD baby. Let the floodgates open up.

As much as I would like for Kansas to change some things back I think they have at least one thing right; a limited harvest of 1 buck a yr. regardless of weapon.

Mixed opinion on my part. I don't care for more pressure on our deer.
If we are hit with 5 doe permits because of the CWD scare, it might not matter at all.
We might just as well manage for turtle doves in the future. New group.....QDMA is alive. Quality Dove Management Ass.

I don't think its necessary. We already have scopes on rifles and shotguns why does a primitive weapon need a scope? I see this putting more hunters and poachers in the field late in the season.

So after all the DNR meetings, and discussion of unsatisfied hunters, this is the only change we get? I would bet crossbows are next. Just add more to the harvest.

Are your guys's hunting regulations all about killing more deer?
Ours is about money. Anything to bring money into the State. We didn't have any talk about crossbows in archery season until a rep from a crossbow company started meeting with some of our legislators. Boom, the law changed to include crossbows (even though every meeting with hunters or newpaper article I could find showed that crossbows weren't wanted by hunters) and that particular brand was the first on the shelves. Almost like they knew what was going to happen... Out of state tags are supplied by demand. If we sell out one yr they increase the number the next yr to meet demand. I don't see biology or game management having much to do with the law changes...

Kill more deer. Which in turn will kill the license revenue for the DNR down the road. Morons are too stupid to see the value deer hunting brings to the state and to their bottom line.
