I have no idea. I cant remember year over year. I just know the saying, "Corn knee high by the 4th of July". If I have that, I feel like a good farmer. I have to believe if we get any rain, that wont be an issue as its a month away still. In a decent year, it's knee high by the fourth of June. We're behind all over. Just now I'm starting to see beans out of the ground. Could get ugly if the summer heat kicks on hard and that stuff hasn't canopied yet.

Seems like we are at least a week behind if not a little more. We do need some heat to get things growing but timely rain would help also.
My beans looked spotty but its hard to tell because I have some grasses growing.

I have had beans in the ground for 3 weeks that are still popping out and filling in the rows. I have lots of drown out spots I am re planting right now in both corn and bean fields. Worse year I have ever seen for guys around here on slow germination. Was not the year to plant deeper than 1"!

I think I planted my corn on the 13th and it took about 10 days to pop through. Had that cold wet week and the soil wasn't warm enough. Growing fast now with the heat though. My beans went in 6/2 - should be up soon!

Corn looks good. What do you do for fertilizer? You look like you need rain.

Corn looks good. What do you do for fertilizer? You look like you need rain. Definitely need rain! My fertilizer program isn't very scienctific. I typical go to the local co-op and ask the guy to set me up with a good "corn mix". My neighbor and I usually team up doing fert, tillage, and planting in a two tractor parade. Use of the Co-op spreader is "free", though I'm sure the expense is added to the margin on the fertilizer.

Here's a pic of my corn/soybean plot planted with a grain drill end of May. I went with 2 six inch rows then a blank.

My corn enjoyed the heat the last couple weeks. Your corn and soil looks great. I'll be at my place next weekend and will post pics afterwords. My soil looks nothing like yours.

I am headed to my place this weekend to broadcast Urea onto my sandy soil. Just curious, what stage is your corn at now? I'm hoping mine is around V7 and ready for nitrogen.
I'll have photos after my visit to the farm.
