Your corn looks great. Depending on where you are at its been a good growing season. Do you have any sign of kernel growth?

I'm in sand and it was starting to shrivel pretty bad, we really needed the rain! I didn't dig into any ears, but there are two on most plants.

Mine looks like shit, because I am a shitty farmer. I got my seed density to high in the rows.
Oh well. I had fun planting it.

Looks like your backup plot is coming in nicely. That's a first seeing corn taken down like that. Holy shit.

Here is what 4 acres of corn looks like with high density of deer Does that occur frequently? I always plant my main plot in 1/2 corn and beans and most years the deer leave my corn alone but 2 years ago the deer hammered it similar to yours. This year the deer have not touched my corn. hard to say why they would be on corn already.

I think you need at least 100 lbs of actual nitrogen for a good crop of corn. i screwed up my weed management and my yield is going to suck but there is corn there, just not as much as I wanted. Now if I could get deer to eat stalks well hell, I'd be in business.

WOW! That is impressive browsing. The bean fields that abut against my woods don't have anywhere near that level of browsing. The corn fields NEVER get touched!

We have been able to grow corn here before but for some reason they are hammering it.
We have another 4 acre field about 300 yards to the west which is getting hammered but not quite so bad

We have another 4 acre field about 300 yards to the west which is getting hammered but not quite so bad I remember you having problems with browse on beans. Do you have another crop to help browse pressure? Would a narrow strip of alfalfa help lower browse on corn/beans? you have allot more deer than I do. My beans were browsed heavy this year.

We have 4 acres beans there as well. Our problem with current rotation is they browse through the corn to get to the beans.
We wanted to put in a strip of clover along the woods but life got in the way this spring.

I think part of the problem this year is we had to buy a new sprayer and the weeds slowed down the corn and gave the deer more chance to browse on them
