My impression was the the Dad kind of "runs the show"? I'm guessing he at least has an umbrella policy since he is in the construction business.

It does. Regardless of the land what about in 5 years when they have assets to go after? Regardless, I’ve been around these sites long enough to know you’re a stubborn old SOB and when you’re set on something there’s no changing your mind. I have better things to do this morning than argue over proper legal advice for a pair of teens I don’t know

Back to building a set of stairs...if I don't have a way to haul 16' lumber could I scab a 4' section onto a 12' section?

Stu.....cant you place some 16' lumber over the top of your cab (use a boat cushion to pad it) or run them thru a rear cab window (that's what I do).?? Gotta be a way to haul some lumber like that. Or....alternately you could make some rope loops and cradle it along the side of your truck.....no? Use a little padding. If anything bad happens.....I'd just sue them boys and MO for not getting you some proper stairway with your order. (grin) I love my role in stirring this pot. .
