When my wife and I became serious about playing better golf.....it likely took three years to quit whiffing and chunking every shot. I still have issues with the game....but so do others. Even the pro's need to constantly work on their swing techniques and need to take allot of practice swings before hitting the ball. It's not a natural thing for most folks. I wish there was more short cuts to good golf. Alas. Understand the club path and face angles is a big part of the game and understanding the "gear effect" of the club on the ball is a huge thing too. Those little dimples add spin to the ball and the club will add to that spin depending how you strike the ball. Crazy game. I have one of the best softball players swing the golf world has ever seen. It works and I am to old to change things. People like Mo and his successful softball/golf swing are one of the reasons I quit playing golf...I have the prettiest swing and didn't see the results on the scorecard. Hovered around a 16 handicap. Best I ever played was in college when I played a couple of times per week...hint (there's the clue). You have to play a lot. Client golf for work at beautiful courses sounds great, it wasn't and I hated it because I was so frustrated at my play. So, that along with my repeated pinched nerves in my neck retired!

Currently play on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thrursdays......and sometimes on Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays. Pretty much every days that ends with a Y. FORE! Most of those are fishing days. No time to golf.

Had a 40 / 46 for 86 today. The 10th, 11th and 12th holes gave me issues or I would have had a good round. Couple of sand traps and a water ball ran my score up......and my putting today sucked. Gotta have a good short game to score well.

As always its a couple of bad strokes that cost you more. Been said: you gotta eliminate the bad strokes and penalty shots. Always room for improvement.

Played with a guy that hit from "the tips" today. Way back on the black tees. He could drive nearly 300 yards. Big bellied guy....overweight. Good golfers come in all shapes and sizes. Odd game.

Guy I golfed with today used a 9 wood to tee off with. Big farmer from Canada. Never seen a guy hit a 9 wood 250 yards. But he did.

Whats it cost you to play golf MO? Do you buy a package? Over here......my wife and I both play.......so we buy 150 round annual package. So......Cost per round is about $32. Probably cheaper than fishing. they are going to start a major clubhouse / bar / restaurant renovation in a few weeks. Will about double the size of our bar and be pretty nice when it's done. I think they are spending 3 million on it. The first bar / restaurant was put together by an idiot. We need the new set up.

Our club house bar got expanded 5 years ago and now loses millions with COVID restrictions on. What we need is another 18 holes so we can get tee times without calling two weeks in advance.

All these retirement places are selling out fast now. In about 2 or 3 years I dont know what folks will do. I dont see too many large retirement places starting now. I suppose lots of folks will die and make for some openings.....but I think there could be a real shortage? Just me speculating. Sales here are smoking hot. Glad we moved when we did.
It seems like prices can only go up.

By the way...Sterling Grove Golf Club will be open to the public starting February 11 for a period of time before they are private. The fee will be $89. Sterling Grove is a new community located west of 303 and on the south side of Cactus. It's about a mile or so west of 303.....kinda out in Mo and Jerry's hood.
Below is the email message from Troon:
Sterling Grove Golf + Country Club is Arizona's newest golf experience. Set against the backdrop of the majestic White Tank Mountains, the course showcases features from the golden age of golf architecture, providing golfers with a very playable and enjoyable round. You are invited to experience this Nicklaus designed course beginning Thursday, February 11th! Green fees will be $89 per person, with public tee time reservations accepted 30 days in advance.
