Got my ass kicked at golf league yesterday by a 80 year old golf phenom. He shot a 41 from the Reds, I shot a 48.
Who made the rule at 80 a guy gets to play from the womans tee's? WTF!

If your playing golf and using the handicap system established by GHIN......then the tee boxes used are adjusted for handicaps. IF not adjusted.....then you just been bamboozled by an 80 year old guy. OTOH.....the yardage is not going to account for 7 strokes.....maybe 2 or 3 strokes....but not SEVEN. You've just been beat by an old guy......no two ways about it. Huge Grin.

^. We got some super old duffers in OZ and some of those guys have lost much of their strength. They will hit from the red's too.......and they even offer some gold tee boxes which are half way to the pin. Not many hit from those golds.....but some. with big handicaps and such do. They dont usually compete.....they just trying to enjoy whats left in life.
At our courses here in MN they have four or five tee boxes. One of our groups is hitting from the first box behind the reds (here they are gold) and other groups normally play from the whites. Then they have the blue and black (championship) boxes. Those are made for scratch golfers, tournaments, or guys with super ego's in their 30's. Waaaay too tough for the likes of me.
My game has been in the dump the last few weeks.....although I was improving the last time out (I hit a 94/18 holes). Dunno what happened either......but I have not played very well.....and have troubles hitting the ball squarely. Most of my scores were in the 80's for some time. I guess it comes and it goes.

In 1923, Read Who Was:
1.President of the largest steel company? 2..President of the largest gas company? 3.President of the New York stock Exchange? 4.Greatest wheat speculator? 5.President of the Bank of International Settlement? 6.Great Bear of Wall Street?
These men were considered some of the worlds most successful of their days.. Now, 80 years later do you know what ultimately became of them?
The Answers: 1. The president of the largest steel company. Charles Schwab,
died a pauper.
2. The president of the largest gas company, Edward Hopson,
went insane.
3. The president of the NYSE, Richard Whitney,
was released from prison to die at home.
4. The greatest wheat speculator, Arthur Cooger,
died abroad, penniless.
5. The president of the Bank of International Settlement,
shot himself.
6 The Great Bear of Wall Street, Cosabee Livermore,
also committed suicide
However, in that same year, 1923, the PGA Champion and the winner of the most important golf tournament, the US Open, was
Gene Sarazen.
What became of him? He played golf until he was 92, died in 1999 at the age of 95. He was financially secure at the time of his death.
The Moral: Screw work. Play golf.

Hit my best score for MN this year with an 86 today. My golf has been in the dump here in MN.......gotta work around the trees and the ravines and OB areas......much different than OZ. Of course the slope ratio is different too.

I shot a 40 for nine holes at the wrestling golf fundraiser yesterday. It was a two person scramble. But the reason I said I shot the 40, was we didn’t use one of her shots the whole match. Never seen a chick that bad ever. But she could drink, so that was fun!

MO......I think you need to organize an annual golf and seed event at Mora for the guys here on this site. We could buy seed, chemical and fertilizer in the the morning........then play a golf scramble in the afternoon........and do a dinner and party at night - maybe at the Casino?? (most of us would need to get a room nearby). If you were to do this in late June.....it would be good timing for fall planting stuff. Hold it in the middle of the week so it's easy to get course time?
