I gotta say...I'm not looking forward to any more tooth extractions. Swelling got worse today and it's even less pleasant to deal with than the day after. Dr. Google tells me that's common, so I'm not going to worry about it. I'll be happy when it gets healed over. You don't want an infection. Dr Tool'n say a little whiskey won't hurt. Had a few vodka/diet tonics last night, they didn't hurt. Gargling with salt water also doesn't hurt

I had a root canal this morning. Man does this suck! Hoping to feel a lot better by morning, but it feels like a 2 day recovery to me. Guess it was infected pretty bad. Took the doc quite a while to get it cleaned out.

Wife had a root canal a year and a half ago. Pain was no where near as bad as what the prick charged us with no insurance. Fucking crook.

I can’t remember the last time I had a cavity, but for some reason This is the 3rd time I’ve had an abscess tooth. 5-6 years ago I had to have my aortic valve replaced (birth defect). I know there is some weird relationship between your teeth and the heart, so if I have tooth pain I usually get on it and get it taken care of. Been traveling for work quite a bit lately so this one went a little long before I got it checked out. Doing a lot better today👍🏻

Interesting how much of an effect tooth decay and oral hygiene in general has on the heart. My wife has had her share of heart issues to deal with too....and how they know some of this stuff is uncanny. For example.....they had my wife under anesthesia to have a 'final look" via some imaging devices....when she was going to get a heart valve clip repair. Upon seeing the base of here heart valves better.....the repair became a "no go".....and they put the surgery off. Doctor says that she must have had rheumatic fever as a child because that is what causes issues like they saw where here leaflets connect to the heart. So....they ended up to reschedule her for two more valve replacements. It's odd how these diseases can manifest into other parts of our bodies and how many things like this are "common" results of a prior illness. (My wife is doing fine in her recovery.)

Glad to hear your wife is doing fine Foggy. My father had heart valve/ artery issues most of his adult life, which they diagnosed as deriving from rheumatic fever when he was a kid. My older brother just told me he has to have an aortic valve replacement due to stenosis from 14 years of kidney disease. Mine was from being born with only 2 leaflets instead of 3 in my aortic valve. Just wore out quicker. Glad they found it!

Mine was from being born with only 2 leaflets instead of 3 in my aortic valve. Just wore out quicker. Glad they found it! My wife had a 2 leaflet aortic valve too....just like her father. Had the defective valve replaced 20 years ago....and wore that one out. Thus....she had a second aortic valve replaced about 1.5 years ago. And she had rheumatic fever as a kid too....and that caused some issues with the other valve(s) at the base.....and those are now replaced too....along with some bypass work and a pacer. My wife also had histoplasmosis....which settled into one of her lymph nodes....sacrificed itself....and turned to calcium....thus pressing against the artery that returns blood to the heart. Over time....she grew all new blood veins to replace that artery. The body can do some amazing things. Hang in there....lots of developments in the last decade....and surging ahead faster each year. Amazing times we live in!

30+ years of diabetes, and overall, have kept my A1Cs in line the vast majority of hte time. Got my recent A1C result and it elevated more in 6 months than I have ever seen. Last check my A1C was 7.2, this time 8.6.
Admittedly, I dont eat great, and snack too much, but this was a big eye opener.
I have not tested blood often enough. Honestly got sick of sticking fingers to test blood. My A1Cs have been in line for a very long time, so I didnt feel the need to test as much for quite some time.
Dr prescribed a continuous glucose monitor last week for me. Freestyle Libre 2.
What a game changer! I can test my glucose level as many times as I want with the sensor that you apply to the back of your arm. what an eye opener!
I have gotten things under control in a big way. sometimes I check multiple times an hour, just to see where I am going and how fast, and can intervene quickly based on results.
If you are a diabetic or know one and dont use one of these monitors, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I havent been snacking now for several days as well which is a great thing. Afraid to snack and check and see things sky high. And no more sticking fingers. That is awesome.

yes, tiny needle. This isnt testing blood. Its barely subsurface on the skin.
Freestyle Libre Pro and Freestyle Libre use subcutaneous, wired enzyme glucose sensing technology to detect glucose levels in interstitial fluid
