I think before anyone does an action, that they should have an answer for it... a clear purpose and rational for what they are doing. It's obvious these guys didn't protest in the name of racism or on the merits of how society treats them, they protested over comments made by the President. In protesting as they did, they disrespected the country instead of the President. There is no clarity here, they are protesting the wrong thing. Makes them look like childish idiots to me.

I don't agree with disrespecting the country but Trump could handle it allot better. Trump needs to remember allot of people need to be educated about what the US stands for and although we are not perfect the US represents the best things for free people. He should also point out many of the issues that are occurring in the black community (unemployment, illiteracy, out of wedlock births etc.) are occurring because of liberal policies. Trump needs to link cause and affect to what is occurring in these communities not lower the conversation down to a third grader. At the same time spoiled football players giving the country the finger just shows how little they know about this country.

Steph Curry on Friday about not going to the White House. What Curry said “By not going, hopefully that will inspire some change in terms of what we tolerate in this country,” Curry said Friday. Who tolerating what? The guy is mixed lineages that include African American? What the hell is he wanting to tolerate? His mothers Haitian background being segregated? I dont think any of these dumasses even know what they are protesting or why they are protesting. Overpaid assholes..... Question? Has there been any college athletes "protesting" ? I honestly dont know. They’re has been college athletes protesting. I haven’t seen any kneeling, but I’ve seen people standing back from teammates during the anthem as a sign of protest. Saw it at every basketball game last year I attended. Doubt I see it this year as they graduated/transferred.

They dont even know what they are protesting against, how to protest against it, and when to protest against it. Helping build the barriers higher and wider is all they are accomoplishing.

When it starts costing owners money, it will end.
But remember, we are dealing with people that when a natural disaster occurs, they don't try and rebuild their community, they loot the first foot locker and walmart they see.

The whole thing is so stupid, the owners are reluctantly siding with the players for now, knowing full well this will cost them money. Very upset that Mike Tomlin called out the Army Ranger who stepped out of the locker room and stood for the national anthem. That was beyond wrong. Tomlin, who I have always respected, sorry lost all respect for him.

This should go without saying but it needs to be said. I watch football to get away from all the BS of the world. Having all that drama and crap on there puts a sour taste in my mouth.

I haven't watched a full football game (or other pro sports) in many years. The games are entertainment and there is nothing patriotic about them, I see no reason the national anthem should be played before games in the first place.
I saw some articles saying that before 2009 the NFL players stayed in the locker rooms during the national anthem and then the DOD/National Guard started paying them $10s of millions to have the players stand out on the field as a recruiting tool. What a waste of money.
It sounds like the steelers and seahawks were trying to go back to the pre-2009 where it was a non issue. Sounds like some snowflakes still got triggered.

Alenjandro Villanueva (not sure I spelled that correctly) is a former army ranger, he is a lineman for Pitt. The rest of the team stayed in the locker room and he went into the hallway and put his hand over his heart and stood for the anthem. Then his dipshit coach (Tomlin) former Vikings coach, calls him out on it, like it was a bad thing. His jersey is now in Top 5 selling jerseys today after not even registering in the top 100 before.

Those players, teams and coaches that go against Trump and the Flag are gonna go down on this issue IMO. It is WRONG....plain and simple. If you won't respect our flag, our national anthem and unity and our vets....then screw you and the horse you rode in on! Many in the NFL are gonna be toast when this plays out.

The League has a problem as the NFL is having identity problems with all the domestic violence and now disrespect for the country. Many of their fans are middle America who love the country and have no time for wealthy disconnected players. I saw on the news ratings are down 8 percent, that's got to cost them millions.
I have to agree with Foggy, going against the Flag is not a winning bet.

The President getting involved will hasten the end of this. It's very predictable how the left will react and the Trumpster just set another flaming bag of shit out there for them to step in. All he had to do was say, "I love America and everyone should stand for the anthem." That set the cry babies on fire and caused them all to double down in the opposite direction. The only way out for the league is for this to just go away and the media pretends it never happened, otherwise they go the route of the NBA.
