The President getting involved will hasten the end of this. It's very predictable how the left will react and the Trumpster just set another flaming bag of shit out there for them to step in. All he had to do was say, "I love America and everyone should stand for the anthem." That set the cry babies on fire and caused them all to double down in the opposite direction. The only way out for the league is for this to just go away and the media pretends it never happened, otherwise they go the route of the NBA. Fat chance of the media going away.

Earlier this year I had a thread about if you remove your hat during the anthem when out in public. As I recall, at least a few here admitted they do not. I'm assuming that everybody who is super indignant about the guys kneeling during the anthem always stand up for the anthem, even when watching from home?
I do remove my hat for the anthem, but will admit that my fat ol' ass usually stays in the chair. How about hand over the heart? If we stand, remove our hats, but don't put our right hand over our heart is that still disrespect?
I will give kudos to anybody who stands up, removes their hats, and puts their right hand over their heart each and every time the anthem is played...especially when you're at home by yourself.
We're getting played by the media...again

I dont always get out of my chair.....because I am lazy and nobody is watching me. HOWEVER.....to take a knee is an open AND DELIBERATE display AGAINST America, the anthem and the flag. THAT is un-American and unacceptable to me.

Not sure when the last time I saw/heard the anthem on tv was. In person I will stand with my hands held in front of me. My only protest is to tell people it should not be played at sporting events. It seems to me the anthem is way overplayed, and when you start associating it with events that are not patriotic it loses meaning. The attachment to symbols like the anthem and the flag is extreme right wing statism which is much more un-American than a peaceful protest. The idea that kneeling is some extreme disrespect to the flag/soldiers/etc. is just perception. It seems the only protest acceptable by the right wing would be to stay at home and be quiet. Trump is joke when it comes to these issues. He constantly contradicts himself and I don't think he gives a shit about any of it. He just knows what will get his die hard supporters worked up. Easy to distract them from North Korea, Puerto Rico hurricane damage, and another shitty health care bill by getting on twitter and blowing smoke. Some nice examples of him contradicting himself. Donald Trump recognizing people's rights? lulz What was Obama thinking criticizing a privately owned company? Trump criticizes espn for making a PC apology a few years ago. www.sbnation.com/2013/1/8/3852202/brent-musburger-comments-apology-espn-alabamaTrump whining for an apology a recently: Do people still think that Trump cares about uniting people?

I went 25 years without attending a high school football game.
Now that my oldest daughter is involved in band/color guard, I have gone to a couple of games this year.
I'll get my football fix from the local team. To hell with the pros.

And I will say, I always stand, take my hat off, and absolutely, I put my hand over my heart. Its my way of showing respect for my uncle who died in WW II and his 4 brothers who all served.

I say the Pledge of Allegiance every day and stand with hand over heart for the Anthem at all events. I even stop in the parking lot if I can hear it playing on my way in to an event. I have stood at home for it but I have to admit, not often and only when I was alone (and probably drinking).
I like that they play it at sporting events! It gives me a chance to pay respect to service people who I will likely never meet or talk with. I figure the stands are filled with present military, past military, and family of military who I would like to show some respect to and give a little support. I also feel a little personal pride in our country every time I hear it, so for me standing and saluting the flag on the occasional Friday night is a good thing.

How much of the so-called racism is brought on by themselves by how they act?
Not saying Ward is a bad person. I dont know jack about him, but "they" can carry quite an attitude that creates some of the problems.
I work with blacks, asians, indians, etc. Some of the best people in the world!! They carry themselves well, they are a part of our "team". They dont act as if they are owed anything. They are a part of "us". We are a part of "them".
Pretty simple really.

Saw this from a post on Yahoo.....and it's to Stu's point: The media is promoting the rebellious and mocking the patriotic. The media has been supporting hate, bias and division against our President, since election day. They wanted Hillary to win. They thought they had bought the minds of Americans. They do so every day. They lost, the Democratic party lost and Hollywood lost......and they have been acting like adolescents since. When something like this comes along, they support the wrong just so they do not support our President. How to make America worse is the message from the democratic party, the media and Hollywood, The amazing part is that more a afraid of the media and go along with them. The coaches are a perfect example. They all stand together like a bunch of little kids telling their parents we want what we want. . . . So drop the Pledge and the song. It doesn't mean anything to the business of sports and if most Americans support the player's right to make jack asses of themselves then take away the toy. That will end that. . . . Of course, the nations of the world will laugh and mock us. Who cares? If the Democratic Party is only interested in elections and winning and not WORKING for solutions to our problems, then what is the point. Let us become a one party country and do away with the constitution and live as communists where the government tells you what to do. The Democrats have been working toward that for the past 24 years or more. . . . . Next will be the separation of some states from the union. I for one will not go along with this foolish nonsense and disrespecting our country and our constitution. This is not about President Trump, this is about America taking a gun to their foot and firing. How stupid can we be? . . . You want to protest....go outside the stadium and do so. Go organize a parade. Write on facebook and get the dim wit media to publish your objections and your rights. When you play the game you are hired to do so and not what you want 'in the name of your personal rights'. !!! You are an employee and the fans came to see you play, not foam off at the mouth....and kneeling no less....anther mockery to the LORD. You bend the knee to the LORD not to protest. Another insulting act of disobedience. This whole issue has been blown up out of proportion and we can thank the media for that. Their hatred for America is unbelievable and they excuse their actions as news worthy and their right to free press. BULL....it is hate and bias ...clear as glass.. Shameful !!!

Anyone see Davante Adams get his head taken off? I can't believe the guy that hit him wasn't ejected on the spot.
