Snow on the ground this morning. My pears were done blooming, crabs and apples have been bloomed for a week or so but still holding pedals. Wondering how this will turn out for fruit on our place. I suspect it will be ok, but don't know. Always assumed I would only get fruit every few years due to our weather patterns. This might be one of those years.

Pear trees have bloomed. Some local flowering crabs have bloomed. Many trees are putting on leaves. My graft attempts were 3 weeks ago.
2-3 inches of snow on the ground at my house at 34 degrees. Cabin temp says 30 degrees and freezing rain.
It’s almost May. WTF?
What does this do to hard and soft mast? At least the persimmon haven’t woke up.

We got snow and freezing temps yesterday. Pears were done blooming and crab/apple about done. It was 30 when I woke up this morning. Really don't know what will happen with fruit. Every year is a crap shoot here so it's expected.

25 at my camp this morning. The forecast had called for 31. We did get .5” of rain yesterday which was definitely needed.

Sleet and snow coming down this morning. If we don’t have mast this year, the plots are going to get hammered.
I usually wait until May to plant a garden but I have done it by late April before. This is crazy weather.

I just found out the town north of my home got 8” snow last night. We got nothing. Not sure at my camp yet.

It was 55 and I was sweating up a storm cutting firewood today. Then it hit 60 and a few black flies swarmed when I stopped to take a break. I found one large wood tick on my clothing today.

The farmer just spread manure in the field where they summer the cows. They’re a little late bringing the cows this year due to late snows. They usually have them in by April 15th.

The large dairy operation a few miles east was stringing hose for pumping pit manure yesterday. We saw at least 3 miles of hose strung out and didn't get to the end where it was being applied.
