The large dairy operation a few miles east was stringing hose for pumping pit manure yesterday. We saw at least 3 miles of hose strung out and didn't get to the end where it was being applied. Wow. Lots of work and expense in pumping that chit. Would seem easier to load it in a tank and haul it.

Some of the fields they're applying it to are also remote/not easily accessed with a truck in the spring. I'm not sure if the hose belongs to the dairy, or if they hire somebody else to do it. I know there's a company south of LP who does just that.

They are applying/incorporating it to the fields with a cultivator. Hose attaches to the cultivator. Trucks wouldnt work.

My renter uses tanks and the other owner in our section owns the tanks/ business.
A dairy about 1.5 miles to the East strings hose for miles. It seems like the go one direction from their farm one year and a different direction the next.
There seems to be a critical size of operation before they switch to hoses. Most dairies of 500 cows or more string hoses.
Some of the bigger dairies sell the manure.

Most of these are done by custom applicators.

I think we hit 90. Fucking tubers, water skiers and jet skis already. And Chicago idiots blaring music. Way too fucking early for the idiots to be out. Fish were biting though. Caught crappie, perch, lm bass, and a walleye. Not bad for a little over an hour. Kept 10 for a meal.

26 degrees this morning here at the farm in Mora. Ground temps are way cold right now. All my seed is still in the bags. Slow start for me. On purpose.
