Drove to Little Falls to shop (ran into an old fisherman there) and when I got back there was a bit over an inch in the rain gauge. Seemed like east of Flensburg got much less. I'd be just fine if we didn't get anymore, but I don't think that's going to happen. I ran into a guy over there at Wally’s that used to give good advice on apple trees and habitat. Now we talk about knee braces! Good to see you!

The early storms last night missed my place by a couple miles, but we picked up some nice rain last night and this morning. I'm guessing about an inch or so. This rain is well timed since it should ensure my corn and soybeans that were planted too shallow get enough moisture to germinate. I just broadcast the seed and lightly disk in to plant, so I have very little control over seed depth. This works well most years, but not last year with the drought. We never even received enough rain in May or June to germinate the shallow seed.
This rain should take care of that issue this year. Hopefully the rain continues later in the summer when it is really needed.

This rainfall really hits the spot. Things were really getting dry here, but this close to two inch rain improves things

1.78 over the past 2 days. More then enough for a long while in these heavy soils.

Yesterday and last night gave a 1.25 total. There was a tornado in the area last night around 7, whistle blew and got really dark and windy very fast. Wife was in basement I was by patio door trying to see something. High winds and dark lasted about 15 minutes. Haven't looked at any news yet this AM but last night they did report some funnels and just high straight winds.

I suspect just a bit less. My renter reseeded a bit of the alfalfa and this should make a difference. Parts of it were too thin and he felt he got some of the first seeding too deep. He had some new equipment this spring.

4 inches in the last 2 days for our food plots. They should be happy for a little bit.
