Keeping the lawn mowed is one thing. Keeping the lawn, two orchards, a chunk of lawn abutting a neighbor's place, and a couple miles of trails mowed is another. At least the trails are only a 2-3 times a year.
I need a zero turn mower

We just found a new, had 3 hours on it, Toro 54” zero turn mower with the “My Ride” suspension on market place some old guy bought and did not like how it steered. He sold it to us for $3500 and no tax. We have a 54” cub cadet with 800 hours on it we like as well. They are way better than a lawn tractor. Except on steep hills.

My only experience with a zero turn was at my wife's old place. The performance on hills sucked big time. That's the main reason I haven't bought one here. I've got more hills/slopes than she had at her old place. Maybe they're better on slopes now? I don't have much flat ground.

The guy we bought this Toro from went to a Cub Cadet zero turn with a steering wheel. He was on a steep lake lot and said no comparison between the two. Steering wheel zero turn was the way to go.

.7" in the rain gauge from today. We were supposed to get .25-5" It can stop for 10-14 days or so now.
I ran out to spread some ladino on the weedy clover plot I nuked with 2qts./acre gly a few weeks ago. Much of the plot has standing water and running water in a few spots. I'm sure the ladino I spread will be spotty, but I'm also guessing a bunch of clover seed from the seed bank will come on strong this summer. Threw a bit of collard seed in too just for kicks.
Stock up bug spray fellers...the skeeters are about as thick as I've seen them mid day.

Got a light rain overnight again. The last two mornings have had nice showers overnight. Just like living in a rain forest this year.
