Some of my good friends are in the "New CWD" zone. It appears that the new CWD zone was created to include some large tracts of public land.... Convenient.

Wow, those hunt rules are brutal. Pretty much kill every deer you can.
Most of the land is private, I can't imagine many land owners opening their properties to hunting.

There are still a lot of landowners down here will let guys stack up the deer. I'm afraid the deer hunting has peaked down here and will continue to decline as the cwd zone spreads.
For $20 a guy can legally shoot 8 bucks in January. the guys with the prime ground can shoot their regular buck in the rut and then bag a bonus buck or two in January.

Might explain why there has been a lot of land for sale in that area.

Might explain why there has been a lot of land for sale in that area. Where do you get this info? I follow the market very closely down here and I haven't noticed an over supply... what has been listed has been selling for 3-5k an acre.

There has been some listings in that area. Not saying it's cheap, but could be why they listed it??

I follow the real estate market down here pretty close and haven’t seen any reduction in price or large influx in inventory. We’re only a year into it. The eradication likely had minimal effect in number of largely private areas. If this persists and large areas become whitetail deserts things will change. I saw lots of deer in the CWD zone this summer. Hell, I narrowly missed a 170” 5x5 with my F350 in what shows as ground zero on this map.

Does anyone have comments on what a statewide kill goal should be with a spreading cwd problem? The goal seems irrelevant to me.
