I need a new hand spreader for small seeds like clover and brassicas. I've read earth way 2750 is a good one, but what do you guys recommend? My cheap bag style one broke, so I need to get a new one soon so I'm looking for advice. I have that exact one and it works really well. Have planted several acres with it in the last 2 years and if it happen to break on me I would buy another one in a heartbeat

Instead of SD's blower you could try this.

That blower of SD's worked very well for my plots. So much in fact, I bought my own system. Jap Millet, ime and plot needs, can be tricky. Too thick they have very weak stocks and they wont stand to snow. 1.5 lbs of seed over a 1/3 acre plot. The blower hit the distribution PERFECT!

I wonder if our friend MNfish has tried his new blower seeder? Perfect timing for the question! How did it go today? 1) I am selling my Solo seeder to anybody that wants it. Make me an offer it is in perfect working condition and I will NEVER be using it again. 2) Look at the mix I have in the bucket pictured. Small and big seeds broadcast all on one single pass (rye, oats, sorghum sudangrass, beans and crimson clover). I used the coated beans as an indicator of spreading evenness. Very impressive results. 3) I over seeded two of my plots this afternoon. About 1.5 acres. 30min start to finish. SD you cat loving, wrestling watching beast....Thank you for the idea

Mine is 500 cfm, battery life 60 min, 5 year warranty, 25’ spread, 50+ foot range on one pass.
3” diameter. Those rigs fit 2 3/4 to 3”

When we did Fish’s jap millet, I made 3 passes with a 3/4 rate. I could have dialed that down to a 10% rate on seed that only requires 8lbs/ac.

My blower is 100 cfm and the tube is just under 2". Not sure if it would work.

The speed is low like 90 cfm and the tube is 2-3/4"

I have 3 acres of beans to overseed with a total of 450 lbs of blended seed to spread. If I had a large seed container on my ATV trailer that could feed into a high cfm blower I may be able to spread seed without running over to many beans. This plot is a large rectangular shape probably 130 feet at its widest and I can get to all 4 sides. I wonder if I could make one lane in the middle and hit the entire plot. I'm working with cover crop seed, rye, barley, oats and vetch probably.

The hopper on my 10+ year old Solo spreader started to disintegrate. I imagine due to UV breaking down the plastic. I figured the thing was toast but did an internet search for a new hopper. For $20 one will be here in a couple days
