Nice work Cat, love the old world approach. I Made a wood bow in shop class out of wood but it had laminated limbs and grip.
Did you have an approach or are you just seeing what works?

I'm just seeing what's in the wood (what works). I watched a couple of youtube video's on selfbows and tillering, but they aren't geared towards crossbow dimensions. In fact, I've found almost nothing on making a crossbow out of wood. The video's do give me some guidance in general procedures though. I've spent the morning doing work in the house... suppose I should go out sometime and give it a pull.

You should have seen me test the .5 cal I built for the first time. Lot's of duct tape, a workmate vice bench, and a long string were involved. I imagine it was a comical scene!
