^. FWIW.....if I want to play after 2PM.....I can pretty much drive to the clubhouse and just pay my fees and get on within 20 minutes or so. Feb may be the exception.....but most days my wife and I can play nine holes (or more, depending on the amount of daylight) in the mid afternoon at the drop of a hat. Also get 1/2 price rates after 2 or 3 PM....depending on which month here. Nice. ......and all for the price of a dozen shiners. . FORE!

Got our new EZ GO golf cart on Wed and took it on it's first trip around the links on Friday. Nice ride. I like the 14" wheels! We drive our carts everywhere around here....to the gym, for lunch or other events....and for golf.....so they get allot of miles on em. Most of the carts will go 25 MPH or so.....which is the speed limit in our community. Some folks put a license plate and seat belts in them.....and then travel on the city streets for groceries and such. I think that gets a bit dangerous......so we don't license ours which removes that temptation. (Every year someone gets themselves killed that away.) Drove to the course, played 18 holes and when we got back home only used 1/4 of the (lithium) battery charge. I'm quite sure we could get another round of golf....or two?....in on the same charge. I'm told the lithium batteries can go about 30 miles on a single charge. Battery life is guaranteed for 5 years......and I'm hoping for more. Some are claiming battery life of 8 to 10 years on the lithiums.....vs 3 yrs for the lead batteries which are notoriously bad in the high heat here in summer. Hit an 86 today.....which seems to be my new norm. Today we will decorate our other cart (it has an enclosure on it) for our annual Christmas caravan....where we have about 50 carts from the neighborhood line up and tour the Christmas decorated homes here around the community. Maybe a ten mile trip. (In our community there is about 75 neighborhood "units" comprised of about 100 homes in a unit. Those mini communities do a few things together on a regular basis.). Usually we have a few beverages in hand and someone has a speaker in their cart with music, etc. Then we go to a home for dinner and spirits. Fun. Lots of house parties here.....but they end by about 9 PM or so.....lol. (Winter) Life in the desert is good. FORE! Maybe need a solar powered A/C unit on the roof? (There are actually swamp coolers on the roof of several carts I have seen.....and other folks have big fans mounted on the underside of the roofs for summer play. I just lay the windshield down....and drive like hell. .

We'll be holed up for 7 days and then re-establish a government at the local brewery while having a fish fry and party.

You do realize that MOST of the produce that feeds the USA is grown in OZ right? (OK California grows allot too) We got so much farm land and veggies grown around our place it would make your head spin. Plenty of water too.....with the Colorado river furnishing plenteous water to OZ. Very large corporate farms from around Phoenix and Yuma. Not sure about the Tucson area.....but I bet Wink would know. Also roses and many flowers are grown in OZ. Not unusual to see 100 acre fields of Pink Roses. The desert aint what you may think. .
