Running’s has some decent ladder stand prices right now . I’ll be getting another Hawk 21 footer . It’s a 1.5 man. Good wide seat! Do you leave the shooting rails in place? My wife wants them to steady her shots. I like them off so I can quickly shoot in any direction, especially in tight cover. Maybe we discussed this before.

I do leave the shooting rails in place yes! Personal preference for safety too . I like to add pipe insulation foam/gorilla tape to my stands so they are quieter.

I agree that those fabric seats are comfortable, but they are worthless in a couple years once the squirrels eat them. I had to make wood replacements for the seats once the squirrels are the fabric.

I am also particular about heigh of the seat as I am only 5’7, maybe less now. I want to sit back and be comfortable. Higher seats might be better for bow hunting. The last couple ladder stands I have built from wood and I build them to fit my style and height. They do get heavy. Treated lumber will dry out and lose weight after a few months of sun.
