Saweet! I probably won’t use all of the scion from the wood they sent. If you see something from the list I got from them that you want to try, let me know and I can send you the leftovers! Do what I'm going to do and use them as a cutting. I'm going to plant them in pots and grow them out at home.

I have never tried it but if i baby them I can't see why not. Most wood from apple cuttings has the hormones/makeup to grow top wood not roots. You might be able to add a rooting hormone and get a root to start. Chances are slim though. The rootstock cuttings would be more likely to root. The M111 is famous for but knots which is roots growing above the soil line.

Looks like GRIN ordering for scions spring of '20 is ready to go I'm going to do my best to not order anything this year, but figured I'd let others know it was functional. edit..looks it's only Geneva (apples), not Corvallis (pears). Corvallis doesn't start taking orders until Sept. 1

Bilodeau crab, maybe if SLN doesn’t substitute something else again. Golden Russet, and maybe some oddball pear scion from Todd County? Then down to dirt mounds in the wet area. I still wonder if dolgo is as good as any. I wish I had more swamp crab!

I have been telling myself to order no more than 2-3 scion sticks for 2020. I need to focus on propagating more of what I already have. I think you try an experiment next spring with that swamp crab. Take a bunch of young, straight cuttings (water sprouts would be great) and shove them into deep pots. Bury 10-12" and leave an inch above the soil line and keep the soil consistently moist. See what happens.

Fireblight? My northwest Greening is suffering. I had two limbs tacked on a flowering crab for about three years and loss one of those limbs. The other limb is also suffering.

That NW Greening doesn't look like FB to me, at least not now. Scorched leaf margins could be a number of things, environmental stress of some sort would be my first guess.
I've got a good sized swamp crab here, so I'm good on cuttings...but thanks
