I got that, too. Add some calf manure and it does OK. Yep thats pretty much what I do, add a 2-3 bags per hole and let it eat some water. What else ya gonna do? I do not plant my apple trees on this ground. Just rye and maybe a bit of red clover.

Hey we arent here to judge my ground. 😀 I throw some pellet lime in fert to them every year as well to help.

BV the spade full of old chicken manure works well also. I put my apples on the best ground, but most of it is full of apples or is rental acres.

Just got the email from Dawn at GRIN...let the ordering begin Huh...just checked and pear scions can't be ordered yet. September 1 looks like the first request date for pears

I was thinking of ordering some scion, but then was wondering which to order... and would those crabs be better than what I have.

I'll be in again. My grafts did not do well this year. I'm blaming It on the tiny rootstock I got.
I figure if you can't get it done with skill get it done with effort. Some luck wouldn't hurt either.
