I have you written down for 4 varieties. Centennial, Big Dog, Buckman, and Wotanda. Thanks Art, I Appreciate that. I have you down for the two varieties of red flesh Red Splendor Crabapple. I'm hoping to get up to my place in the next few weeks and will let you know how they are holding. Could you mark which of those I liked better. I know one had bigger fruit. Danger if I can remember.

It's about 10 days earlier than I've ever received them in previous years. Could year end funding have something to do with it? Or new government regulations as of first of year?

I figured everything in gooberment runs on fiscal year, but maybe not? I'm guessing it has to do with the extremely mild winter most of the east coast has been having (or so I've read about on the fruit growing forum)

Will do, the sweet one was closes to the Orchard.

We were 0 yesterday at the camp but, had 4” powder snow. A mile down the hill they got a dusting. The big temperature swings are not good for the fruit trees. I think is when you’ll see the bark damage on the younger trees. You are correct. Those big temp swings aren't good for fruit trees. Well we’re in the 60s today. We will head to the single digits on Thursday.

Will do, the sweet one was closes to the Orchard. I know marked two trees and one tasted better to me. Did the other one have bigger fruit? Very Similar in size. One was sweeter but the other one was not bitter just not as sweet as the other tree.

GRIN scions showed up a bit ago. They look great as usual. Nice pencil or slightly smaller calipers.
Somehow, I ended up with 2 sets of Jonsib Crab scions and no Waubay scions. I checked my requests and it shows I asked for Jonsib once and Waubay once...so I don't know what the deal may be. This is my second time requesting and not receiving Waubay. Maybe I'm just not supposed to have that variety.

Stu,
I just put mine in the fridge. I had a check list and they were all checked off on it. Wax Waubay checked off on the list that was in the box? All the scions looked good size and quality.

I sent Dawn an email thanking them for the scions and asking if somehow I was requesting Waubay incorrectly. I haven't heard back yet

Dawn responded. She said Waubay has been difficult to get the last few years, but may be available next year. She also was concerned that somebody else who had ordered Jonsib won't be getting it.

Well maybe SD and Bob can take a drive up to Waubay and find that apple tree? It’s a couple hours from Sioux Falls.
