This is one of the rod sticks from 2019 in the beginning of this thread. I dug 5 of them up and transplanted to the property. Some of the roots were as big as the shovel handle. I hope I didn’t kill the plant. Several inches of rain have fallen since yesterdays planting.

First transplant on my place doing great after year 3 Tough to see in the picture unless you zoom in, but I have stuck dozens of cuttings into this stretch the last two springs. No cages, but I was hoping for safety in numbers. There are quite a few survivors so far.
