Best of luck. I spent the day before Thanksgiving in the dog ER with our 5 year old who suddenly couldn’t jump and wouldn’t let us touch her. They really are part of the family. Hopefully you have many more Christmas mornings with her. What was her problem? Lymes?

Must be a bad month for dogs. This cheesy showed up at my farm. He ain’t ate in a while. I put it on the lost dogs mn website hoping the hunter that lost him can get him back. We've re-homed two lost dogs via facebook since living here. It's pretty crazy how quickly "shares" grow and how they can eventually reach somebody who knows somebody who lost a dog that looks like that.... Good on for you trying to find his owner

Hopefully you have many more Christmas mornings with her. What was her problem? Lymes? She has a calcium build up in between her disc that caused inflammation which was bothering the nerves to her back legs. She seems back to normal but still won’t jump or put her front paws up on anything. She is learning how to go up the steps we got her to get into bed. That was how it started. She jumped in bed at 2am and yelped and then started crying when ever we touched her. They said she will always have it and will need anti inflammatory pills when ever it flares up.

Good on for you trying to find his owner The Chesapeake Bay Retriever Club in MN got wind of this dog and have agreed to take the dog and care for it until the owner is found. Its out of our hair for now. My post on the lost dog website has been shared a bunch, maybe the guy will see it. Who knows.

That is one sad pooch. Looks like he hasn’t eaten in weeks. I’m glad you found someone to help him out.
My dog ate more yesterday than he had in the previous week. I’m going to walk him around the block and hope he has a normal shit for my Christmas present.

Reggie is three weeks post surgery for acl on rear leg and it is hard to keep him down. He tore while bird hunting. He is 10 and we opted for the surgery as we could not stand him on 3 legs.

Our chocolate lab of yesteryear tore acl in one leg and 3 times on other leg. Yea. Fuckin nuts. We fixed em each time. I cant put down a family member. That was her demise. At 11 the arthritis was so bad in the one leg she couldnt get around any more. I wish all the best to everyone with family member healing. Dogs are best friends. And Mo i hope that dog gets back home. Sad story but happy story you were able to begin its recovery.

Sorry to hear that Reagan, glad he's doing better. We got a dog 4 years ago, first one ever for me. Now I know why people love their dogs so much.

This is the first time I’ve checked this thread in a while. It’s been a roller coaster.
Chemo showed improvement but after his second treatment he went back to no food and water. We kept the IV each to keep him hydrated. The Dr wasn’t too concerned about not eating. She said a dog is built for feast and famine. Not eating will cause them to lose weight but it takes a long time before it actually damages them.
She did another ultrasound and she could not see the tumors. 1-2 treatments shrunk them that much. So the not eating was blamed on one of the meds so she stopped giving it to him. He improved and is now eating so much it’s almost annoying. There are days he eats 3-4 times his normal amount. We let him have it because he had lost so much weight. I think he started at 78 and got as low as 64 pounds. He has gained most of it back.
One of the meds, I think a steroid has caused his face to get very thin. You can really feel his skull now. Dr says he will stay that way even when he isn’t on them.
Our normal walking schedule is back. At least a couple laps around the block each day. We had a good duck season but I never took him. He did retrieve ducks in the yard a couple of days which he really enjoyed.
His energy is lower than normal. He immediately lays down when he isn’t walking. Other than that he he seems pretty normal right now.

I’ve been waiting to get this pic today and it didn’t take long. He would lay belly up from time to time. Since getting sick, he does it a lot more. I think it may relieve discomfort in his belly. Maybe he just likes to show off his nutless junk.

Glad to hear he’s doing better. I’ve spent more money on dogs than I care to admit but when they become a family member...well you treat them like a family member.
