As long as calories out exceeds calories in your good. I'd really hate to try to lose weight with diet alone. I greatly increased my exercise and tried to keep the food intake even or slightly down.

There's no way I could have done it diet along. Since retirement I've increased my workouts like you wouldn't believe. Started as just treadmill when we had bad weather. Once it got nice it was bike riding and treadmill. Past month or so has been a 10 mile rude in the morning, 30-45 treadmill in the afternoon and another 10 mile bike ride. Some days I'll skip the treadmill even though I burn more calories on it. Got to go big ass bowl of popcorn is calling my name.

I've now passed my initial goal of 170. My scale is not the most accurate but it was showing 168 this morning even after Tooln inspired me to make popcorn last night. I don't really believe I've lost 3lbs this week but that is what it says. I've still got too much fat on the upper body so I'll keep dropping a bit more to try to get rid of it.

19 weeks in and I hit my goal and have been maintaining it. So I've changed my plan/goal in Lose it and my calorie allowance went from 1623 to 2002 per day. Pigged out this weekend and it shows but still within my 175-180 range. Since I changed my goal my chart is also different.

Holy shit your doing great. How far down do you plan to go? Been out shopping for new cloths yet?
Not sure were I'll end up. Hoping to stay under 170 long term. I've got some stubborn fat hanging on yet but I'm not sure if I need to lose more weight or just maintain and hope it comes off. Jeans that used to be a bit tight now are quite loose. Last weekend I added another hole to my belt. Today I put a deposit down on a custom bicycle fork for my dream bike build. Hopefully the fancy new bike might motivate me to ride more. It will have a internally geared rear hub to make it almost maintenance free. Half the time my old bike hasn't been in the best condition and has diminished my desire to ride it.

Speaking of bikes what do you have now. I have a schwinn with lots of miles. We ride 20+ miles most days. We are looking to upgrade our bikes this fall. Thinking of Trek or Specialized. Do you have any knowledge of either? My belt also has been adjusted several times and new jeans are in order. But I may lower my goal to the 170-175 range. I want to eat good/more for just a little longer before I try that.

I'm riding a Trek 970 from about 1992. It's a great bike but has had a hard life. I'm trying to build as close to a made in USA bike as I can. I've got a older Dean titanium frame off ebay and have ordered a fork from a custom builder out of Utah. I can get the handlebar, stem, bottom bracket, front hub, spokes, and rims from the USA. I had to settle for a German geared hub and I don't know of any tires made here. Tires will likely be from France or Germany. Brakes will be from Europe also. I think I can avoid anything from China.
Both Trek and Specialized are good brands along with pretty much anything a local bike shop sells. Almost everything is made in China or Taiwan except a few very high end bikes. I'd stay away from the big box stores. Nothing but cheap junk even if it is a name brand. Maybe by fall there will be some inventory but right now I've heard the bike stores are almost cleaned out. I think it was a combination of people spending their stimulus checks and having nothing else to do during the stay at home order.

My wife and I ride a Volae tandem recumbent(with a Waterford WI frame) and getting high pressure tires has become an issue. We are on course to ride 5k this year as my wife is coming back from foot surgery. We did over a hundred miles this weekend and had a flat last night with a bad rear tire and waiting for Amazon to come today with a replacement. We have dropped over 30 lbs combined with out a total strict diet. This not to shabby for a couple in the mid 70's. The new Blackstone griddle does make it a interesting to keep on course.

I'm now at 20 weeks. I've hit my goal of 180 from 213.6. I've been maintaining between 175-180 which was part of my goal. So now I decided to drop just a few more and try to settle in and maintain between 170-175. Then it's time to buy some new jeans. The wife said she'd pick some out for me and I told her no fuckin way. She'd come home with those skinny fuckers and I told no man should EVER wear those. She asked where are you going to get them. Kohls, Target or she suggested some online place where she get stuff. I told her no, Fleet and if fleet doesn't have it I won't be getting any.

It's the son-in-laws b-day today. She had bought a cake to take over. Things came up that we couldn't go so she called and explained. She told him she had a cake. He told her he really likes pies. After she got off the phone she said shit what am I going to do with this cake. Told her no worries I'll take care of it. Blew my diet/ calorie allowance out of the water today. But it was worth it. Maybe the other half will be breakfast if it makes it to then.
