I have 2 "deer rifles"....a Marlin 336 CS lever gun in 30-30 for stand hunting in the woods.....I then have a 308 bolt gun for hunting plots and field edges where I may need more "reach". Either gun is just fine as long as you put the bullet where it needs to be. Indiana was a slug only state for a long, long time.....so I got used to throwing a 12 gauge slug at them as well.....since we went to rifles on private land I haven't picked up my deer slug gun.

I do actually.
Its double barrel shotgun on top and rifle barrel underneath i believe. Havent looked at it in years. Its pre 1900 we think. German made if i recall.
Extremely rough shape. My grandpa had it in a case in his trunk for years as the story has it.

Not my photo unfortunately, but anyone have a combo like this one in the safe? I wish. I do have an O/U Savage in 20 gauge / 223.....but not a tri-barrel. Most of those re made in Germany. Interesting guns. Not real practical....and heavy to carry....but they are interesting.
