Lots...and I mean lots...of dead bucks around here during the "youth" hunt. Of the 15 or so I've heard about...less than a handful were shot by "youth" hunters. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge

They found one near Farmington. There won't be lots of deer there for long of history repeats.

Wink, wink, nudge, nudge Sad that people do this. The antlerless season gives adults an excuse to carry a firearm in your area. Just youth season over here.

Sure seems like deer hunters here aren't the "cream of the crop" on average. It's all about filling tags and turning deer into venison

Wink, wink, nudge, nudge Same happens here too. Quite often. KS just legalized night vision for yote hunting. Check one advantage to the poachers. Previously it was illegal to have a weapon and a light in the the truck at the same time. Perfectly legal to spotlight, just couldn't do it with a weapon in the vehicle.

Wink, wink, nudge, nudge That is just ridiculous. I hope they are reported . I watched a big 10 saunter across a clear cut at 200 yards when I was sitting on stand with my Son years ago. I wouldn't let him shoot more than 100 yards. So, the deer just wandered across and out of our lives, at Noon, during MEA. "Dad, you should shoot that." "No Tim, we have laws for a reason." I should have shot that deer. He was right.

Sounds like the grape vine works pretty well. Do these people act like shooting deer during the youth hunt is acceptable and not something they should be ashamed of?

Sounds like the grape vine works pretty well. Do these people act like shooting deer during the youth hunt is acceptable and not something they should be ashamed of? The common perception seems to be that the DNR wants the deer dead, they have legally purchased a tag, what difference does it make whether it gets filled now or in a few weeks? Pretty much similar to the thinking of those who shoot deer for other hunters with a legal tag to fill.
