I planted pumpkins one year and the deer loved them!!! I broke one open and after that it was cool to see a hole the size of their head, they'd eat the seeds first and then the rest of the pulp.
Back to the original question, corn or soybeans, I'd go with soybeans, less expensive to grow - less fertilizer. And then you can interseed the beans with rye of some brassica/turnup mix later.

Corn and sidewalks for now. Should be able to find a shed or two off that highway.

I don’t spend much time looking for sheds. Maybe you should. I used to look more and found one five point rack. I really don’t need some more antlers, especially if they are just run of the mill stuff.

Their numbers are back, but there still must be some corn out there. You are correct. Just a few years back, part of my corn could last two years.

I need a set of rattling antlers and have no deer winter where I hunt. If you want to go for a walk this spring, let me know! I ordered up Dolgo rootstock from Conner.....maybe we should´ve combined shipping!

It wasn’t anything special and I feel a smallish rack is best for rattling. (Under present hunting conditions, I am not much on rattling. Just touching a few times is enough in most cases with lots of hunting pressure.. if even that.)

It wasn’t a great success anyway. Deer travel from this Morse bunches crab and from some seedlings thru the bean/ corns to the alfalfa field.

This is my driveway as I left home this morning. The deer have been active going to the corn.
