Thanks guys! M111 and Antonovka rootstocks did well for me also, but this combo gets the blue ribbon

Makes me want to go the dolgo rootstock route next spring I have talked with two producers of wildlife trees and they like Dolgo rootstock. That said, there undoubtedly are better choices for some climates and soils.

Nice job G2!! Do you have a lot of trees in your orchard? How long you been grafting? This year was my first attempt. I’ve got some 4 and 5 year old trees at the farm that are starting to produce and I’m running out of room. So I gave this a try for fun (and I’m over paying $30+ for a tree), and it’s gone pretty well. As most say, “if I can do it, anyone can”.

Just an FYI...Fedco's spring offerings of scionwood and fruit trees are live now.
I'm going to do my best to not order any of either this year. Maybe a couple rootstocks from somewhere, but that's it.

However, I know somebody with pipsqueak scion(if he got enough rain for growth ) and another guy has some scion I want to try. Time will tell if we can stick to our words.

This guy has Puget Spice which sounds interesting.
