Another one in the river bottoms overnight. Might have to try a sit up there this year. One of the largest antlered bucks I've seen with my own eyes was in the back of a pickup in Germantown Junction (know what there is?) many years ago. The guy that shot it got it out of the Little Yellow River bottoms west of Highway 58. There are some big bucks in the bottoms in Juneau County.

Biggest one I've ever seen came from right outside of Camp Douglas across the road from the auto junkyard. Giant typical 12 pointer.

I saw a number of damn near B&C bucks from that Hustler/Kendall/Wilton area over the years. Much better soil over that way than what my folks had at their old place. I looked for property in that general area years ago. Wasn't cheap then, I'm sure it would shock me now.

The quality of the bucks there vs the river bottoms was crazy. Still is but there's some nice ones in the bottoms, just not nearly as many. And from what I've seen on camera they top out at 120 class deer. Although I have know guys w/in a mile that send some that are definitely bigger. Seems those are on the M side of the river though. They aren't far away.

5:23pm today
Miserable SOB - I had a kiddie pool out for water for wildlife and he completely destroyed it, chewed on ripped with claws. He also got into garbage barrel and spread it all around. Barrel now has locking lid on.

I think most of the shooting around my area is done if he can stay close for a few more weeks

I think most of the shooting around my area is done if he can stay close for a few more weeks Be ready for him to be dead. 2nd weekend of rifle season is when people shoot what they passed up 1st weekend, lol. In mn, the hunters "have" to get a deer for meat. Otherwise, they magically die from hunger. With the low harvest so far, guys will be out in force and shooting anything that moves on Saturday.

I think most of the shooting around my area is done if he can stay close for a few more weeks I have no idea what pressure is like over your way, but around here that buck's chances go up every day. We'll have some pressure Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, then it'll get real quiet. Good luck
