I've gotta do mine over lunch today. I could swear I had two bottles, now I can't find one. Picked up another and will run home and get it done.

All done. I paid $7.49 for an 8 oz bottle. Used half to make an 80 oz batch. It got my pants, sweatshirt, and Tshirt done completely without much to spare. I stuck around to see if it was gonna drip, and it did, so I rigged up some stuff to catch it so it wasn't falling on my neighbors below.

Just use a 1 gallon sprayer, set clothes over fence and first spray one side, turn over and spray the other. A gallon goes a long way vs. soaking clothes.

Great tip. Unfortunately I've got deer ticks at my place and they are out already. My dog was covered with them last Sunday after a few hours. I need to do more to protect myself and the kids.

I have to admit that is what I'm thinking. I wasn't a fan of soaking just because you have to make so much.

Found a tick on my leg yesterday, my cloths got a second treatment.
I suppose one tick isn't that bad though.

I've always bought spray cans of Sawyers or Repel. Usually 3 or 4 cans will last us a summer - I most often wear my clothes 2 or 3 times between washing (yep they get dirty). I lightly spray them each time they get washed. I just get the fabric damp and let them dry in the sun for a few hours. Cheap effective Tick insurance.
I have LOTS of ticks......but this has kept us more or less tick free for several years. (I have had one start to dig in last year.....so you still gotta do tick checks).
I did buy a concentrate bottle last year....and will likely mix my own when my spray cans are depleted. I'm just gonna use a 1 quart hand sprayer to apply. Only a couple of bucks at your farm stores.

They are out. They're not bad yet, I only saw 6 today, and one of them was crawling up my treated clothing. Makes me wonder about that stuff. It's a clear win for prevention, but every so often I get one that doesn't fall off. Maybe there's an alpha strain of ticks out there.

I got a bonus tick dropped outta my hat onto my ear 3 hours after I left, and did my full body tick check. He must have overnighted in my hat.

I re-nuked my tick clothes today. They'd been washed a few times and I just want to make sure they're good to go. I went with a stronger dose of perm this time. More is better, right

I've always read that as long as your permethrin is dry it's safe on your skin. I had to re-nuke some pants this morning with my spray. They were damp.....so I threw 'em in the dryer for a few minutes. No ticks after 4 hours in the woods.

They must not be too bad this year. Usually I can see them all over the place hanging onto the tips of dead grass. For as much crawling around in the bush I did, one on my leg, and one in my hat is pretty good.
There always seems to be a couple each day that don't roll themselves off my leg.
