The rooms we want done are larger than the rooms I had tiled back then. I'm guessing we'll be awful close to $30K Pretty sure we're gonna go with this stuff. You'd swear it was wood even up close I love the wood look. That’s probably a great personal choice for you. Not a good choice for resale if that is in your future. Yup. There's plenty here that probably aren't great choices for re-sale. We've decided to do what we want. Whoever buys this place will almost certainly be some rich dude from the cities who wants a nice deer hunting shack and a place where the wife won't hate coming a few times a year. Such a couple can re-do what they want when it's theirs.

I did my man room/bonus room in it and think it turned out great. I have to think where I bought it from but I was able take a picture of the room, select what I wanted, and I could see what it looked like in the room before I purchased. I bet you could get the LVT to look like your sample above too. And you'd save some coin for beer money. my $.02

What ever you get, make sure it is 100% water proof and you can run the flooring without putting transition strips every 20’ like some floors require.

Installer stops in a few hours to take measurements and eye things up. I don't anticipate needing anything special for the install, but will find out. The stuff is 99% waterproof with a PEI of 4. It should be a lifetime product.

We also want this floor to be the last floor we have installed in these rooms, even if we live here for another 30 years. Porcelain tile fills the bill for lifetime flooring. I also found a few places on the interwebs where they cautioned putting vinyl flooring products over a radiant heated slab. I don't know the truth, but I do know that tile is largely considered the "best" option to use on such a slab. Most energy efficient, best transfer of heat, longest lifetime of flooring, best re-sale value (if you pick the right stuff, which we may not have), etc. etc. etc. It's going to be expensive now, but neither of us should have to worry about flooring in every room but two (office and spare bedroom will still be carpeted) for the rest of our lives.

Jeeeese!....your starting to sound old Stu. That's what I been saying for a few years now: " That's the last one of those I will buy in my lifetime". Grin. Enjoy. BTW: I was in a home that put vinyl over a heated floor.....and it had all kinds of burned areas in the vinyl from the in-floor heat. Also was curled up at the edges and other stuff. (was up near Warroad MN) They were replacing it. Not sure about recent products......but, Would make me ask allot of questions.......

Couldn't get it re-started. I imagine mechanic could get it going for me, but I've waiting for the thing to take a dump for years. I'll need an atv here, so if I can't get it going soon I'll be on the look out for a new one...and that should be the last atv I ever buy We've been bleeding money the last couple years, but we're getting close to having many of the big ticket items paid for. We should be good for quite awhile (knock on wood)

I didn't realize I had left so many words out of my post...and I was stone cold sober. No tractors/implements in my future...but possibly a blacktop driveway, doubling the size of the shed, or a pond capable of sustaining fish through winters

Going to look at some flooring options in a bit. In advance, I pulled the flooring quote from the house build (going to the same flooring place today). This is gonna be painful. I had $11K in tile (kitchen and master bath) 10 years ago. Just got a pleasant surprise. To have them rip out the old carpet/tack strips and install the tile will be less than I spent 10 years ago. The stuff we picked out 10 years ago must have been some expensive tile.

He thinks it's a plugged fuel filter. Of course the filter is in the tank so it isn't an easy fix. Also gonna throw a new spark plug in and see if that does anything. I'm sure it can be fixed, I'm just not able to do it. If we can't get it fixed with a minor investment of time then I'll go buy a new atv.

With all the Boats, ATV's, UTV's, RV's, Fish Houses, and other toys folks have bought in the past few years......one would think so many of these toys are going to have to be sold as money becomes tight again......which is almost a certainty with the higher inflation and increased interest rates coming now. May be a good time to snag some of this stuff come fall or next winter? The other period in time that is remindful of these times is the early / mid Seventies. And that was followed by sky high interest rates and a very slow economy for several years. Folks were driving bad old cars and times did get tight for a while.....pre Reagan....IIRC.

I agree that what we are currently experiencing is similar to the late 70s/early 80s as I remember. I'd just as soon go through that again now if it will prevent the same experience in 10 years. The late 70s/early 80s was the most stressful time for my folks' marriage that I was witness to/can remember. They rode it out, but many of my friends parents' did not. A very unpleasant/unproductive time in America's history.

Cashed in on the new found equity of their house. Watch inflation kick their financial ass. House goes back to the bank. Bank zero accountability as fed backs them up and we all get to help pay the loans back.
