You guys must just drive the gravel roads??......'cause you cannot drive trails during the deer season. we went riding before season opened. That said, ya we run dirt and blacktop roads. I am unaware of any atv/utv trails around here. This is Todd county, one of the poorest counties in the state. We cant afford any such trails Yeah....it really takes an old rail line....or lots of county or state land to get a trail system together. That is what they have about 50 miles to your north. Lots of neat little towns and trails that connect them. Gonna get you up here for some of that next summer. You dont even need to go thru Brainerd....just go north on black top thru Motley about 20 miles to some neat forested areas and access to hundreds of miles of trail riding. Pretty neat and lots of fun up there.

You should have hung on to it.....and waited for Biden to bail you out in exchange for your vote. lol. I cannot believe what a BLATENT fraud this was to buy young peoples votes.....and they bought into it. Dumb asshats. Of course a Federal Judge turned down this bullshit as illegal...AFTER THE FREAKING ELECTION!

Too many hunts already. I think guys didn't shoot many deer this year because the perception is that you can go shoot a deer whenever you want. They've lost value in many hunter's eyes.
Pretty humorous that the DNR keeps adding more and more units to early antlerless....and the antlered buck kill is 54% of the total kill so far.

There were some youth at the Camp Ripley youth archery hunt that said they had two more youth hunts to participate in and they weren’t too anxious to shoot a deer.

This is ultimately what happens when you try to eliminate deer. More opportunity actually backfires.

the DNR wants deer gone.
More opps. more revenue as well.
Wait till this backfires on their grand plan. It will not be long.

The DNR is already making excuses for a (rough 20% drop) in deer harvest . Wind & rain !! 🙄 Sunday was a beautiful day to hunt. I hunted or was outside at camp all day and heard three shots. This is some of the heaviest hunted metro public lands, and it isn't abnormal for there to be more hunters there second weekend than first weekend.
IMO, hunter participation hours are way down. Folks deciding not to bow hunt as much. Folks deciding not to gun hunt as much. Folks deciding to go to other states to hunt.
If hunters aren't going to hunt that many hours, then better get them all in the woods at the same time. Look for the return of weekend only hunts soon and having to choose only one season to hunt. That's all most hunters are doing anyways with the lowered deer numbers.

They can just go away from game management and follow the environmental trend. They are now trying to figure out that funding source. Even the hunting groups are flipping. I guess I am just getting old...

WI DNR tried to make deer disappear in a section of SW WI (literally, there was an Eradication zone). It was impossible.
Hunters can certainly reduce deer numbers to a point where hunting them becomes difficult and perceived as not worthwhile, but a reduction in hunter interest will lead to a rebound in deer numbers. Especially in suburban areas where hunting is limited/not allowed.
