Not a garden shot. This is the rental house we still live in. It’s .7 miles from the farmhouse where he flew the drone.

I just pulled the pea vines out. I think the wife blanched and froze 8-10 quarts of them in the last few weeks. We need to get our peas in earlier in the spring from now on. They don't do well in the heat. Of course, June this year was off the charts hot. That didn't help. I tried yanking out the t-posts that held up the chicken wire fence for pea vine support. They aren't coming out until I soak the shit out of the garden. Sheez. I've been watering it at least an inch a week, but those posts are in there deep. I pulled 99% of the green bean vines and dill today. The wife has plenty of both in the freezer already, and there's still probably 2 gallons of green beans in the fridge to be blanched and frozen this weekend. I got the t-posts out this time, then rototilled and threw out a bunch of "deer greens" from Outside Pride. I just fired up the sprinkler, should have a cover crop popping in a few days I'd guess.I just gave the garden another shot of sprinkling. I went down to look at things after I shut it off. Lots and lots of little green seedlings up. It doesn't take much to get brassicas going. Sure wish it would rain again sometime so I could get a fall brassica plot.

Brassicas can germinate pretty quickly if you get a little rain. I broadcast some last week after I disked between my pumpkin rows and they already sprouted despite only getting a small amount of rain. I was able to drive my atv on the seeded areas to pack the seed into the soil a bit, so that likely improved my success. I'll be broadcasting brassicas in my crappy looking soybean plots later this week. It is a little later than I would prefer, but still could provide some bonus food with a little luck.

I think I'm going to spray a couple sections for the 2nd time tomorrow, then throw down a bunch of radish and turnip seed and say the heck with it. If it rains within the next week or two, I may at least get some greens. I doubt I'll get much, if any bulb development.

Realized this morning that we had the soaker hose on the garden for at least a full 24 hours. That’s the problem with the soaker hoses, can’t see them going from afar. Don’t have a clue who turned it on in the first place. Whoops. Mainly tomatoes and peppers affected.

The light yellow area is just corn that’s already been harvested. It’s the stalks chopped and dropped. From left to right 1. Pumpkin, squash, zucchini. 2. Potatoes. 3. Sweet Corn of various maturity.

Anybody working on making corn syrup? Those look like male plants to me.

First batch of salsa this year. The wife will probably make 2-3 more batches of similar size before freeze up. I need to buy some more jars

Has anyone mulched garlic with cardboard over the winter?
I used some straw last winter and I have a sh.t load of grass coming from the straw.

We went and bought another 2 dozen quart jars. She did one batch of just plain canned tomatoes for chili or whatever. We had to rearrange the pantry to make room for everything this year. These hot, dry years are great garden produce years. The bee guy dropped off our annual 8 quart allotment of honey yesterday, we still have 4 quarts left from last year. I believe we could survive (not well, but alive) off what's currently in our pantry for close to a year.

I don’t know how many batches. We have enough tomatoes but not as many as years back.

The wife's grape vines produced like mad this year. So far 30 pints of grape jam. Many more to come.
