I'm going to order a handful of rootstocks if I can find some just so I have more places to hopefully "save" my ditch apple via grafting

I found some M111 still in stock. Got 10 delivered for just under $5/each. Not cheap, not terrible.

I mailed out the last two packages of scions for the year this morning. I just need to get the Pipsqueak scions to Art now.
Bring on the spring grafting season...

I'm hoping to get up to my Rusk County place in the next week or two and I might take some scion off varieties up there that I don't have at home. I'm assuming the scion will still be good to use this spring, but I guess there is only one way to find out. I really need to spend a day up there documenting what varieties I have since I typically only check the tree tags up there when I'm picking a sack of apples to bring home after a weekend of hunting.
I started my main orchard up there using primarily trees from SLN, so I might have some keeper varieties that I could use at home.

Hey Stu, I have some B.118, Antonovka and Dolgo rootstock here. Send me a scion and I’ll tack one on each and if they take we could meet up and I could get it to you!
You don’t have any kindercrisp scion left, do you? I think I got access to a local orchard to get the bulk of my scion needs this weekend, but kind of want to get one of them on B.9 for a little yard trellis I want to try and start.

A scion from the roadside tree that got cut down? I'll look in my scion bag to see if I have any Kindercrisp. Anything else you're looking for? p.m. me your mailing addy

Anybody grafting pears this year and have more rootstocks than scions? I just got some beautiful McLaughlin pear (try finding that variety) scions from a gal in the U.P. I only have 3 open rootstocks and the scions are long and there are 3-4 of them.
