Some showroom quality apples in the pics. Mine all end up ugly for some reason, those look great! I spend a lot of time on my trees! But also, I grab some of the better looking stuff when a I grab a pic if there are some to choose from, haha

I set up an “apple cam” awhile back. Best buck that I have on camera down there all year Does all over it And this thing would get a trap if it was still in the family

Looks like you might need to set a dogproof near that tree...

Yeah, Cat....if it was going to stay in the family that would have happened! Also the amount of gophers that have taken over is wild this fall. Glad that is no longer my issue ha.
On to some good news. I swung by a farm tonight and got permission on 225 acres. On the way home I called an adjacent landowner that I was hoping to get access to this new piece from the opposite side and he said yes! Things are looking up, wish I would have done this 3 months ago, but oh well. Again another spot that has other hunters, but it sounded like they were old and just like to ¨walk in the woods¨. When I shed hunted it this spring, it didn´t look like they were much into deer stands as they were all old or 4 ft up in the tree ha.

Everything happens for a reason!

I hung a camera right after asking in an old grown up pasture. Bean field 50 yards away, major trail coming from bedding, going by a dropping apple tree and coming out from a downed fence. The cedar fence post had a rub on it, and the apple tree had scrapes under it. It looks killer! We shall see what my new Reconyx spots on the first good wind to hunt it (SW). I found all of this in the spring while shed hunting and thought it looked killer...probably a better spot with corn in the field but it is what it is!

Not yet, but i´m sure will be soon. The field to the South is corn along with the fields to the North and East. Going to drive the block on the way home right now and check it out. I will post a pic of the land.

What areas look good to you? Red is about the prop line and yellow is access points the big bog is just that. Told me not to go out there for fear of never seeing me again 😆. South end was tore up with buck sign as I feel it doesn’t get pressured and the old pasture behind the building site seems to be major bedding. Woods to the west is mature timber. All of his fields are beans this year and corn all the way around it on all surrounding fields.

Today marks the end of the SmallChunk era. They close this morning at ten! I won’t have any more updates on here, just a heads up! Sunday was the start of a new adventure though, and it’s freaking a fun one!
