The Del-Bar was my folks' favorite place after they moved to Juneau County. The walleye fillet there was as good as any I've had.

Can’t remember what I had. I hardly ever eat steak in a restaurant so I went with it. Place was packed. I ordered the salmon app for one but it would have fed four. They charged us for the app for two so maybe that’s what they gave us. I’d like to try Ishnala sometime. We’ll be in Maine for a week starting next weekend. Will try to OD on seafood.

I have no idea what your plan is, but if at some point you can buy lobsters right off the boat...buy 3 times more than you think you'll eat

Should be plenty of opportunity for that.

Just found out via Facebook our local favorite hangout is closing as of tomorrow. No more Thunder Lodge. The end of an era I guess. Sad for sure

Just found out via Facebook our local favorite hangout is closing as of tomorrow. No more Thunder Lodge. The end of an era I guess. Sad for sure Why? The owner is sick of working 80+hours a week I'd imagine. He owned an electrical contracting company too and sold out a couple years ago. I think he just wants to be retired. I can't blame the guy. I think he's in his late 60s now. I've tossed the idea around in my head a few times and once good and sober I realized that dumping a whole bunch of $$$ into a bar/supper club in a dying small community in central MN isn't a great investment. I feel bad for the owner and our little community. It only gets worse from here on out I imagine

My biz was like that.....strike the iron when it's hot.....and move on. Sad truth to many small biz's.....some are enduring.....but not very many go for decades....less generations. Reflecting.....some years ago a good hardware store was golden......same for a grocery store or a gas station.....car dealerships were fantastic wealth builders. Today?....not so much. It takes a savy plan and gift to make it in these times.

It takes a savy plan and gift to make it in these times. We have a family owned business in town that is 124 years old. The owner is a bit older than me and wants to sell. Another business is nearly as old and doing well from what I see. Fourth or fifth generation in there. It is a well known meat market with great bacon.

West Street Cafe in Bar Harbor Went with the fried whole belly clams. Always wanted to try them. Pic was taken about half way thru. A mountain of food. Lobster tomorrow. Drizzly weather tonight. Just how I pictured Maine. Low tide I’m guessing.

There was a brewery in Bar Harbor (Bar Harbor Brewery?) that made a blue berry beer that I liked. I'm not a "fruit beer" kind of guy, but man theirs was really good.

I noticed the blueberry beer at the cafe last night. I plan on trying it at some point.

We went to the local restaurant/bar last night to hang out and watch live music. We stayed kind of late and was rewarded for our efforts. At about 4:00 they filled our table with plates of these! Have I ever mentioned that I like steak! It's even better when it has bacon on it, and it's free.

Take home lobster for tonight from Beal’s lobster pound in Southwest Harbor. I got a cup of lobster stew. I ate the leg and body meat from the whole one. Talk about sweet. Tiny but sweet. Blueberry margarita wasn’t bad.
