I'd take a look at the box blinds MO's helpers make. They seem well built and well designed. They do look nice but are just as far away as the one that I linked to. Also it would take some major work to get the whole blind to where I want to locate it. The modular blind would enable me to take the pieces in and assemble on site.

Yesterday I was at the hardware store on 371 near Backus. They had a number of welded blind towers with steps, a railing and a expanded metal platform at the top. Made with steel skids that allow pulling in any direction. Very nice design and very well built. The price is 850 which is a bit stout imo but it would last forever and a guy could move a box blind very quickly w a 4 wheeler. Pretty slick design.

It may be the best design I have seen for an 8' high tower. Very wise material choice to keep it reasonably light.....but very strong and durable. I think you could skid these around about anywhere. I really liked the stairway and platform at the top.....and the railings are well done too. Quality finish too (matt powder coated). Starting to see more good options for box blinds and towers.....as folks get wiser on 'em.

Nice looking design. There is allot of work in those stands, the price is probably fair.

For what it is worth I am going to try and make two box blinds this summer by making a frame wrapping with wire mesh and spray foaming outside of frame then painting with uv resistant paint. I am told it should work but haven't tried it yet.

$350-$400 for the foaming is what I have been quoted for a 6x6x6 stand

For what it is worth I am going to try and make two box blinds this summer by making a frame wrapping with wire mesh and spray foaming outside of frame then painting with uv resistant paint. I am told it should work but haven't tried it yet. I have one set up and being used made with foam packs from menards. Its appears to be an open cell foam and will chip, get stuck in freezing melting snow. Woodpeckers are rumored to like them. I believe there are options with the spray foam trailer rigs and one could have a higher quality foam? The guy who made mine is going to make more and try the other foam options. But an insulated blind is a bat shit crazy nice option and I would hunt from this unit no problem for the money. Will spoil you and make it hard to hunt in the cold from a tree stand or regular blind.

Why do they need to be insulated? Mine the boys brought down stays warm with out insulation. The carpeted floor keeps them pretty silent also.

I was looking at them MO just because it would theoretically be cheaper, weather proof and lighter

I run with a window or two open now.
