Going to try and tackle some box blinds the next few weekends. What height do you guys recommend for the bottom of horizontal shooting windows? All my stands are buried in 3 ft of snow.
Going to try and make them out of insulated garage door panels.

I set mine at 39". I sat in the first one I built in my driveway, put a chair inside, and let my imagination work. This stand is only elevated about 5'. Seems perfect.

Going to try and make them out of insulated garage door panels. Center of horizontal window 42 inches on the ground. Couple inches lower in the air. Vertical 28 inches on the ground. I think about 14 or 17 inches up in the air? Noisiest part is the floor or where anything touches the wall. Gun barrel, Beer cans etc.

Some reason bottom set at 36 “ rings a bell if stand is on 8 ft platform. Does that sound right?

I built my first box blind this summer and hunted with kids out of it a couple of times this fall. If I was to do it again I would build it at ground level with the ground as the floor. It felt loud, confined, and cold being elevated. I would then put a window at a sitting to shoot level and another at a standing to shoot level.
