Just prepping my I told you so speeches for the ignorant who thought it would not affect them. 346 and 349 appear immune to traditional harvest strategies. The rest of the state not so much.

Does that mean 346/349 are not the 13 bag limit designation?

346/349/348 in the crazy reg mix.
2014 meetings had DPA 348 goal slated for a 25% increase.
DPA 348 Buck harvest (only real data) is up 11%.
DPA 348 allowing 13 deer per dude.
Deer meetings are a complete sham. Ass fucking is on its way statewide. (ass fucking is a bad thing in previous context)

Why would anyone at the DNR get fired? They're doing exactly what their handlers want them to do

I told you before you told me so therefore, I am exempt from the ignorant. OTC is fucked and has been fucked for many years. Those that have the good neighborhood or many acres have enjoyed EXCELLENT deer hunting throughout. Well, that can be said about pretty much any area I guess.

Is the only way to get anyone fired at the DNR to elect a new gov? Their higher up guys anyway... The whole state government infrastructure is too big for any governor or batch of part time legislators to even understand, much less hold accountable. And more, when the money sets the agenda, they'll always focus there time on those things. Education, welfare, infrastructure. And even those are too big to manage. This is why the audits are so interesting to read. Pick any program, they all read the same: "The original intent of the agency has drifted, don't know where the money went, and there's no way to actually do what they've been charged to do, without more money."

Just got off the phone with my area manager and he said the Intensive designation now means you can shoot 3 deer, not 5 as before. That is statewide. He also thinks bag limit in 346/349 will be 9. He doesn't think Jan will happen, but if it does acknowledged that the bag limit may be higher.

That just means the few that want 5 or 20 will have to take parents and grandparents down to the bait shop to buy some licences again. Limits don't matter if you don't police it. I'd really like to see an annual report on the type and quantity of violations they're catching people on.

But if he is correct in that the regulation is changing, it is a step in the right direction.

Wonder why they'd change Intensive to 3 instead of 5? Maybe they figure they'll get more people to try to "limit" out that way?

It never made sense to have 1,2 and 5.....
What makes an area need to be 2 per hunter or 5 per hunter?

Area mangers make recommendations. I have cash says you will see January seasons in 346 and 349. The DNR can't find a way to trim the herd in those 2 zones. Bullshit if they do it in 348.
